Don't forget Barney, top penalty taker, think he's only missed a couple in his whole career - and who could forget that ice cool re-take against Orient when he scored that hat-trick

Easy one this, Mike Marsh all day long. Best penalty taker I've ever seen at Blues - don't think he ever missed one.

I agree. I never liked Marsh here, I just thought he came for an easy pay cheque and a regular **** up with his old mate Ronnie Whelan, but he could certainly take penalties.

If I remember correctly he didn't even take a run up he just span round and hit it.

You're right, no run up. Just passed it into the net. Probably one of the most technically-gifted players to ever pull on our shirt. And agree on your drinking theory!

1. Alan Moody
2. Micky Stead
3. Steve Phillips
4. Billy Kellock
5. Blair Sturrock

def not
1.Graham Bressington
2.Dean Austin or anyone from that team ( did we miss something like 10 in succession that season ? )

Dean Austin was the one who broke that streak.

Admittedly he then missed his next one.

Bit hazy now but i remember Leon Constantine scoring a penalty away at Carlisle , then retaking it after encroachment + still scoring .... That was real pressure as we were desperate for every point that season and it was in front of their nutty fans... then the natives when ballistic + we were kept in our stand for about half hour after the game

Have been wondering this ever since I witnessed our victory the other week vs Oxford..

--------Scenario --------
Location - Wembley
After 120 mins with fleetwood in the play off final, standing between sufc and league 1 is the dreaded penalty shoot out.

Who would you choose as your 5 penalty shoot out takers. They don't have to be a current player, but have played for the blues in the past!

Sturrock got in enough trouble when he replaced the keeper for a penalty shoot out. What's the reaction gonna be at Wembley when he replaces half the outfield players with a load of retired ex pro's?

I remember Benji rolling penalties in comfortably. Strangely he wasn't chosen to take them during the horrendous run of misses we had, as soon as he took them the problem was resolved.

I must be slow today, I don't remember him taking any penalties with us.

I may be remembering more from shoot outs, there were others ahead of him in "in match" pens, I think. I'm basing my selection of him, though, on the number of long distance goals with pace that he delivered.

I'm the only one, so far (with the possible exception of OBL) to include Dave Cusack. No-one was stopping them pens. Had the 'keeper got a hand to them it would have been shattered.

Possible exception?! I agreed with 4 of yours and the one exception wasn't Cusack!

I seem to remember Leon Constantine putting them away pretty well. Definitely wouldn't put Tes Bramble on there after seeing him shank a penalty 6 foot wide in my first ever blues game against Shrewsbury 2002/3!

I'm sure Constantine missed a couple though. Orient away I think? I seem to remember Bramble scoring an own goal that day.
