Tonights team news

Injury-prone players never last. Bart will be off and we all know Petts will be, especially if we make it to the Championship!

That's a shame.  We definitely need a new number two in the summer - Bart has spent half the year on the treatment table.

Who's out there, wiggy - who should we be looking to sign?

Have been around lot of non league grounds this year and most keepers are poor, Flitney looks decent from Barnet but only on one look could be misleading.

Prayers have been answered, 2 out of 3 aint bad!
But 4 players are mentioned... so I'm confused!

Presumably, you're happy with the three out of four - Bart & Petts out, Gutts in; and you're only unhappy with Spinner being injured...

Not happy that Spinner is injured, even unhappier that Edwards was basically shown the door as still can't work out what he done wrong, top rated most week on my spot on ratings. Fairly happy, although not doing cartwheels that Gutts is back and definately happy to see the Anderton brothers, Bart and Carl out with broken toenails!

It's fair to say that the word "hubris" doesn't appear in the wiggy dictionary, does it?

Personally, I think it was the right decision to release Eagle. Regardless of the fact that he was playing excellently as an individual (and I don't dispute that), the fact remains that the defence plays much better as a unit when Spinner plays than when Eagle plays.

In short: Barrett with Spinner is great; Barrett with Eagle is poor.

Given also Sodje's arrival (who has been MoM in his last two outings - nuff said) and Eagle's age (34), the case for keeping him - especially since he wants first team footy - didn't look too compelling.

I wish Eagle the very best at Grays though - I'd love to see them go up.

Matt

P.S. As for Gutts the results when he plays vs. when he doesn't play speak far more eloquently than I can as to the huge impact he has on the team. Argue your way out of that one, my old dear...

Personally think he was 4th choice centre back after sodje came in so chances were he wasnt getting a game.

Now if Prior spends a long time on the treatment table then the decision to let him go could come back to haunt us.
