Breaking News Tom Hopper Signs

well he said in his joining interview he was fed up being ‘pushed from pillar to post’ and was looking to find a home.
At 29 nearly 30 he must have made a few quid in his career so hopefully he won’t be greedy and stay on re-negotiated terms.
I’m sure even reduced terms would be decent at this level

Would you stay in your current job if they offered to reduce your terms?

Don’t forget, he was technically unemployed for a few months too, so whilst he may have made a few quid in his career, we have no idea if he has put some away for a rainy day, lived beyond his means, or lives month to month.

I’d love Bonne to stay, but like anybody else doing contract negotiations, they look out for themselves first and foremost. I do get the argument about how much he is enjoying it here, and looks to have found a home, but he will still need a wage.

He may take a wage cut, he may settle for the same wages, or he may want a pay rise, or the club may not want him anymore. Time will tell.

Anyways, I’m not sure how a thread on the signing of Tom Hooper has become about Bonne and his wages….

Wage price might be affected by what league we're in next year eh? Not to go into his personal life too much, but I have him in Instagram and he seems to have some very nice holidays lol and owns a Nissan GTR 😎

Someone said about liking his 'naughty side' and general attitude too... I agree, but am also starting to get those vibes from Kendall.

I written on here before that potentially we're one player away from being a top team - that player being a goal scoring centre forward.

However looking through the leagues top scorers on the BBC it strikes me that 18 of the 25 top scorers, and 3 of the top 4, aren't with teams in the playoffs/Barnet. Halifax haven't got anyone in top 25. 3 of the 4 relegated teams have a player in the top scorers, including Flyde with a top 3 scorer.

Maybe we are placing too much emphasis on a single player scoring lots of goals. Maybe total goals is far more important rather than any individual scoring.

12 goals would put a player in the top 25 - I can see Hopper getting into double figures next season which wouldn't be shabby at all.
Very interesting points well made. Certainly Guardiola and Man City fans have been wondering if their team is better with or without Haarland in the side.

The last time we had a really prolific goal scorer, Eastwood in his first spell, he was backed up by a very good midfield and defence.

A prolific striker gives you a puncher's chance but a leaky defence is going to cost you more.

From what I have seen of Hopper, he is very good defending corners and that is worth the odd goal at the other end IMO.

Yeah Kendall does seem to have a bit of personality and fire in his belly. Hopper grinding the defence down for 60 mins then Kendall unleashed for the final 30 isn't a bad option.

Apart from Cox, Barnard and Moshni. And BBBC.
Personally I don’t think any of those are on same level as Eastwood. Moshni was exciting in a totally different way and wasn’t a forward, Barnard was no where near as good although he did ok, Cox did well but was nothing on the player Freddy was. Corr I think scored 20 once? Opinions isn’t it.
