Todays Evening Echo.

i liked the look of charlie mac on saturday thought he got stuck in, would'nt mind seeing him upfront with a ''lump'' like jon parkin who can hold the ball up aswell as score goals.

I can't believe that EE is writing these stories about Steve Lovell being on the way out. Do they have something against him? He is probably our best striker when he is fit and is a contry mile better than Mackie (who only plays when he needs a contract). Best of luck to Brewster but i will hold judgement on the others till the transfer window slams shut.
Michael Brown, Glasgow

If this move happens then Jimmy must go. Dobie may be an international player - but was it not just a couple of pretty poor sub appearances under Bertie Vogts??? Lovell is best striker by far. Calderwood must go - he's a joke. Get rid of him now before it gets any worse as Richie Byrne will be back getting a game soon if Jimmy stays.
Mike, Aberdeen

Jimmy can get the hell out of Pittodrie as well if he thinks replacing Steve Lovell with Scott Dobie is a move that will improve the team. Lovell is the best stirker at the club by a mile. Time up Jimmy - no one likes you - please leave!
Steve, Aberdeen

If that is true about Lovell getting axed then you better pack your bags to JC. You have never given him a decent run in the team to show any consistency. Instead you persist with Darren Mackie, who has proved time and time again that he is not up to the job. Yes he can run fast but so can a dog - the only difference being a dog could control the ball better and might occasionally put one into the back of the net. Would really make sense to get rid of two strikers and bring one in!!!
Ice, Aberdeen

Sound like Steve Lovell is that good - that say something about Scottish football if the Aberdeen fans is upset that their striker might end up at Root-Hall. Another striker who is out of favour at Championship club is Johnson of Wolves that Tilson is after - if he get both striker in I would be over the moon.

there might be some legs to it in that he's English. Perhaps he's had enough of Scotland. He tends to be used as a sub. He's only 26 though and should be in our price range. I don't believe the SPL are major payers outside of the big 2.

i was more interested in the letter written into the echo where a director was moaning at the players during Saturdays game. name and shame the director i say.

I'm in East Reds and toward the end of the game i saw Tilly turned round and was having a real ding-dong argument with a punter behind him.
Tilly looked pretty damn angry i can tell you.

Anybody on here know what this director said?

I didn't know until I read that that Forest have signed Scott Severin. Quality midfielder.

Also, I don't think anyone knows who the director is - which is the purpose of his name not being printed ;).

Frazier Campbell or Ben Sahar would of been great signings even if only on loan. Shame really but well done to Tilly for trying. :D

where I used to sit in the east greens it would have been easy to identify who the director was. Come on you lot spill the beans.

I was in the East Greens, the fella had blond(ish) hair, fresh sun tan and had a blue shirt with white collars and cuffs to show off the fact. Def wasnt Mr Van Wezel before anyone asks. Geoffrey King saw it and walked down the exit with a look of "oh ****, the sh!t has hit the fan" as you could see Tilly telling him to shut it and call him an "effing banker" at the end of the game. My first thoughts was it was a Millwall Director

Was it Simon Jordan, down at Southend for the day?!

:finger:

So, we've got Charlie Chalk, Matt Harrold, Hooper, Foran, Paynter, an we're trying for one more. Now, I'm not slating Tilly at all, I'd have his babies if it was biologically possible, but that would make 6 strikers. seeing as Sherman, Hooper and Charlie Chalk have all played a bit already, it would suggest that Paynter is definitely on his way out, and that the only chance Foran has got is playing on the wing.

Why is it we always sign strikers and stick them on the wing? And why does Tilly want 6 strikers, for 2 positions, but not 6 centre backs? Meh

I think it was something about Level 42 being crap.
