To Boo Or Not To Boo

never booed any football team, and i hope i never will but im sure if i was at the croatia game i probably would have... however IMO supporting southend and supporting england are pretty different

Can someone please explain to me how booing our own players equates in any way to supporting the team. Its when things aren't going well that we're needed most.

Get behind the team; encourage the players; support Southend!!!

Ive nver booed anything at a football game and I think booing an individual player is ridiculous.

The only booing Id advocate is a general booing of the whole team in extreme circumstances. Booing them off at half time 2-0 against Cheltenham is perfectly acceptable as they hadnt performed well against a poor team and Id say its ok to let the team know.

To single out players in that first half like Harrold is just being petty and narrow minded, he was poor but so were most of the team yet no one subjected them to the same abuse.

i was at the croatia game and didn't really get it tbh. it was first ever england match so was well up for it. first half we played total **** but after 10 mins of the game the fans were on there back rather than supporting them and this led to more mistakes being made. booing is never going to encourage your team is it? the match had 80 0dd mins left and its like giving up already. when the half time whistle went the booing was deafening.

BUT

as soon as they came out for 2nd half everyone was suddenly behind them again and when it was 2-2 everyone was going mad. THEN their 3rd goal went in and instantly the tables had turned again and the abuse continued. final whistle the boeing was even worse. wheres the sense in this don't really get it. any fan booing Steve mcclaren i can understand. seeing him stand there with him brolly out was terrible. couldn't quite believe it myself and why he would do that and basically ask for more **** against him i just don't know. but my point is if we lose a stupid early goal its our job to get behind our players and get the best out of them rather than make it even harder for them by getting on there backs.
