Tilson currently with U21's

EastStandBlue

Life President
Just recieved an SMS from the club stating that Tilly is currently with the England U21's before their friendly with moldova. If this isn't the biggest hint towards him taking the reigns from taylor then i don't know what is...

What? This is f%&king outrageous! When I pay my season ticket money I fully expect Tilson to earn his wages down at Boots and Laces bawling out JCR for cutting inside too often. Will someone tell me how this can this be good news for the club in the context of our current crisis?

Yes he does. I think that is the point being made? Could Tilly be in the running?

I think this is bad news...

This was on the Anglia Sports News last night, I meant to post this earlier but couldn't be bothered to troll through old posts to see if someone had beat me to it!

Don't see it as a danger. As reported before, if McLaren wants a FT U21 boss, why would Tilly want it, unless he wants an easy life? I say it's just Taylor needing some fresh impetus from his side and the fact they're training near Maldon & playing tonight at Portman Rd means Tilly is a solid local choice! If it attracts players like he did with Clarke after the FL v SerieB match then I'm all for it!

I don't think we should worry yet, maybe McLaren sees him as one for the future and is just getting him involved in the setup.

I agree, a short term local option ahead of the new U21 manager as this is Taylor's last game is it not before stepping down?

I'm afraid I'm going to have to agree with this post - what benefit will SUFC receive from losing Tilly for two days? We have made a difficult start to the season, we have new players that need to be integrated into the team, and we have one of the biggest teams in the division visiting Roots Hall on Saturday - surely Tilly should be at the training ground where he belongs?

Questions need to be answered over this - I'm very disapointed.

FFS! this is what clubs have assistant managers for. To take over the reigns when the number 1 is othrwise engaged. Tilly has always had faith in Brushy and so should we. The players know what Tilly expects in training and there is another 5 days until the Sunderland game.

And don't forget that Brushy is the one who does all the coaching / training stuff while Tilly does the mind games / psycology (spelling

) stuff

Just as long as we beat Sunderland it won't be a problem

To be honest Tilly is probably off the training field quite frequently - especially when talking to new players. Brushy does a lot of the coaching anyway - I'm sure the two communicated at length before he went. If it means we sign more quality players like Paynter and Francis then I am well chuffed.

Tilly will not leave the lub for the England under 21's. He might be involved in a coaching capacity but he won't take the full role. As he keeps stating - he has a job to do and he will strive to complete it.

We signed Francis because he worked well with Tilly at Under 21 level - there you go thats 1 positive. Im getting sick and tried of reading about every moaning on here. If we beat QPR I don't think people would have be moaning about this subject at all! People can be so fickle.

Too inexperienced for my liking. Oh.

I love the way that not one person has said he can become a better coach from the experience. I just assumed he would be involved anyway for some reason and thought "well, that's 25p well spent" when the text arrived.

Then join me, SufcinthePrem, as one of the few positive thinkers left on this board after two away defeats effectively ended our season and condemned us to relegation.

Surely we should be honoured that our manager is anything to do with the national set up. And if he can tap one of them up for a season long loan deal then all the better.

Congrats to Tilly on this achievement.
