the chairman wants rid, he thinks maher is blocking the progress of Moussser, the chairman has had a couple of money offers for maher one being a barnsley, and now wants to make a few quid from kev ( you have to remember if we sell kev and get a few quid then the chariman may not feel as if he has to stick to his word and give kev the first money spinning game in the new stadium) kev doesnt want to go, and feels frustrated as any good pro that he is being totally over looked, tilly hates confontation and feels he is totally in the middle so has decide best not to even talk to Mayer!!

The players all feel in total support of Kev who has been an amazing ambassador to this club opver the years and cant quite believe the way he is being treated, queue the split in the team and lack of togetherness!!!!

of course this is all my opinion of what might be happening and not actually happening ;)

I dont think Ron Martin would begrudge him his testimonial and as he has done 10 years I think he is entitlted to one anyway whether he is sold or not ?

100% agree with you - and that's about as rare as that comet thing named after a girl orbiting the Earth!

Whilst I think it would be a big mistake to sell or loan out Maher as I think he has too much class for us to want to get rid of, with Macca and Bailey scoring 17 goals between them this season, there would be no justification to drop either of them in favour of Maher.

Some people seem to be confusing sentiment with reality - Just because Maher has been here 10 years, it does not mean that it is a disgrace, or an insult to him, that he is not in the team at the moment. He has to be judged on current form, just like every other player, and at the moment, he is being surpassed in that department by Bailey and Macca.

Should he be on th bench?... Yes, IMO, but that's upto the gaffer, and if Tilly thinks he has better options for the bench, then so be it - regardless of whether or not we agree with that decision, it is no more humiliating to Maher than it is to any other member of the playing squad if they don't make the bench.

I think that only applies to bans for accumulated bookings. Straight red cards produce an immediate ban unless an appeal crosses over with the next game.

agree with you on that, the club wouldn't begrudge him a testimonial, and yes he is entitled to one, but I think they would rather he has it at the start of next year as a pre season friendly or at the end of the season, as apposed to it being the big money spinner

I heard a very similar story from someone on Tuesday at Millwall. Was told he not allowed to train with first team and that he had a 6 week ban . It was down to money, nothing to do with a training ground bust up. £100,000 was the figure mentioned.

Much as I hate being a doom mongerer I have to say this did cross my mind when I read the fee was only around £25k. Don't forget we were prepared to pay £200k for the lad from Charlton before we discovered his dodgy ticker, & he'd never played for their first team either.

A mate of mine who's a Spurs nut was amazed when I told him how much Barnard cost us, after all he was being touted as Spurs next superstar & was banging goals in for fun for the reserves. Then he got injured (yes, his knee) and Berbatov came along & he dropped off the radar for a while.

The fact is he's obviously not ever fully recovered from that injury, and you have to wonder if he ever will. I reckon Spurs knew that, and so did we probably, hence the low fee. In other words, if he can get fit & recover his form, we've had a bargain, but if he turns out to be a duffer then we havent wasted much money on him. Wouldn't be surprised if there's an appearance based bonus in it for Spurs if he does prove his fitness.

I hope i'm wrong but if i'm right I feel really sorry for the lad.

I think we're going to have to accept that Barnard is going to miss a fair few games during his time here. It's a shame but, as stated above, if he had a flawless injury record he may not be here.

I don't even know what to make about the Maher stuff any more. There's so many rumours flying about.

All i know is we need Maher back playing very soon.

What is the substance of this rumour regarding Maher and Moose? Fight? Bad tackle? Does anybody actually know or is it an internet rumour started by somebody with nothing better to do to try to explain Maher's continued absence from the team.

Would I be right in saying that Maher is shall we say "not the most popular" player at the club with the rest of the 1st team squad as that is what I did hear from quite a reliable source.
