Tilly Last night

Its the teams awareness to defend that needs to be installed, Tilly said on bbc essex last night.

'THERE WAS NOTHING ABOUT THE GOALS WE CAN WORK ON, ON THE TRAINING GROUND, IT IS A MENTAL THING FOR THE PLAYERS'

I dont agree entirely.

Sacking him is a bit harsh, but how long will Ron allow it to go on for, this was happening way back in last season, if we are still in bottom half at christmas then something has to change.

3-2 home v Coventry, 3-2 home v Hull plus many more, now its happening against lower opposition

League 2 will beckon again if its not sorted quickly

Defo a mental thing for us , i metioned in a thread a few weeks back that we seem to crumble when we go behind and the fact is we have shipped in more than 3 goals in a game far too often in the past 2 years.

I believe that we should give clarke a rest and see how we get on , surely we can't do any worse ????

I no Tilly has done a gr8 job 4 us.... but like many others feel its time 4 a change.....

Replacements:

Martin Allen... he is a free agent snap him up... good young manager!!

-Or-

Darren Ferguson... again young manager with alot to promise... i mean look at his father.... he can learn things!

what you all think>>:D

Can't believe this is turning into another Tilly out Thread. No disrespect to your goodself (as you are more than entitled to your opion) but changing the manager will do us no favours whatsoever. It may provide a short term lift but that will not last. I have said this so many times over the last few days that I am losing the will to live. History has proved this time and time again, not just with the Shrimpers but with every club in the country. I have unfortunatly only been able to get to the Orient game so far this season (will be at the Gills match though) but gauging overall opinion on the board, it seems to me that we have been playing rather well and just missing a little bit of luck and confidence. From the amount of chances I read that we have been creating, it is only a matter of time before we give a side an absolute roasting. Lets hope it sonner rather than later.

How exactly is it concerning that our midfielders scored?

That was probably a very poorly constructed way of saying that he's concerned that our strikers haven't been scoring more. Well, that's what I presume as I can't see a reason why anyone scoring is a bad thing.... :p

Once you get through the text speak you are right.
It's interesting to note that we have scored in every game this season, I agree that the bulk of a teams goals must come from strikers, but our strength when we were promoted to the CCC was goals from all over the pitch. I think I'm right in saying that Hunt was the only outfield player who didn't score that season.

Yeah sorry, didnt explain this one well, its not concerning that our midfield is scoring, its great, over the past few years our midfield has been critised for not helping enough.

What is concerning is the fact our forwards are not scoring frequently, if at all.
The midfield cannot be expected to get us out of trouble all the time, if we want to challenge in this league, like tilly has said we should be, then our front 2 should be partnering at least 25 a season alone.

In that case, perhaps you should wait a few more games before you make damning judgements about them.

He is a striker but he just doesn't look like a footballer. He has legs made of twiglets. So I will now on refer to him as Bambie as he just looks like he is going to fall over.

I bet his mum will be chuffed with that........kiss of death or what!!
