Went there in our League 1 championship season 2005-6. It was a November game, the previous week we'd taken 2,000 to Forest & lost 2-0. Fast forward a week, and about 200 fans turned up at Vale!. We left Fri 5pm, as my mate had a cousin who lived up there, & ran the supporters clubhouse next to the ground, whom we stayed with on the Friday night.
remember having a great cooked brekkie at a café 5-10 min walk from ground.
As for the game.... Constantine & another ex Blues player (Husbands?) were playing for them. Both got massive abuse throughout, and usually when that happens, you know the outcome.
Yep, they both scored, and we played poor with a consolation goal just before the end. Crap drive home on the M6, didn't recall many pubs near ground (which I thought was pretty good), although we didn't explore the area. Seen a lot better!

My last visit was circa 2002.One of their 2 goals was a header from well inside our 6 yard box when tiny(not!) striker Leon Constantine outjumped our commanding (not!) keeper Daryl Flahavan! Jay Smith scored for us near the end.

Apologies! It was actually much later-2005 promotion season! And their 1st goal was also netted by a former Blues striker, though he never actually scored for us in 9 appearances. You'll be doing well to name him (unaided).

Only visit on a Monday evening in 86 or 87 for a 4-1 defeat Roy McDonough with a late consolation for us in the Dick Bate era of shame.
