The reason the club haven't "officially" announced it as yet is most likely because they have sent the paperwork to the FA but are awaiting them to sign and stamp it and confirm by return. Nothing is ever deemed official until the FA have confirmed the transfer - especially at the moment with the embargo and whatnot.

Ah that is a very good point...

shouldn't be under umbongo with the money from the cup games so far

The club do not get paid out until they exit the compition, or win it. I believe that includes ticket sales also, as the monies need to be passed to the FA and then dished out accordingly. (pretty much like we SHOULD have done with the JPT)

The unpaid bills were dealt with months ago. The only issue is the un-filed accounts, something RM is quite capable of sorting out.

Easy to sort out, Yes! however i would suggest that they would show, or elude to somthing that he does not want certain eyes looking at!

If it was just unfiled accounts that would suggest it wouldnt cost us anything to get out of embargo, so why hasnt he ?

Why are they still unfiled?

Perhaps, before we call it "OFFICIAL" (on the back of a paper article) we should wait till either of the clubs should announce it on their sites. I'm not saying it isn't true at all and i'm sure it will be announced shortly but nothing is OFFICIAL yet!

True Facts.

He needs to finish dotting the i's, crossing the t's and tippexing out the red bits.

Do you know that for a fact?

I believe there are many other reasons for the embargo.

However, the fact that the accounts are now 9 months overdue is bad enough. We must be due an AGM as well. I for one would like to know why we cannot get an accountant to sign them off....

As it has been said on here before, its highly likely to be the going concern issue.
Its been an issue in each set of accounts for at least the last 5 years but this time the company who has provided the assurance in the past has not submitted their own accounts yet

How on earth did you people go from talking about Adam Thompson transfer to unpaid bills and the accounts.:omg::thumbdown:

What do we reckon the fee is?

£10k?
I reckon the fee is very very minimal, maybe even £0 - reason for that being simply this; Watford fans are very proud of our Academy at Harewood and over-protective of its graduates. Many do not take it very well when we let talent go on the cheap that we produced - when we sold Assombalonga it caused a bit of a stir because we felt that he deserved a go in the first team and in time could have commanded a higher fee. IF the fee was £0 and Watford fans knew, then that would put some negative heat on the club that we got nothing for a bright prospect. By keeping the fee "un-disclosed" - 99% of fans will assume the club got something for Thompson and shrug it off.

Just my opinion of course - I stand to be corrected if anyone has any 'insider' info..

Anyway - Thompson, great guy, great versatile player and he really loves Southend - you can see his passion in his Blues Player Interview. Not many full internationals in League 2 either! I will be coming to watch you again when I can at least a couple more times this season and cheer the Blues on to promotion hopefully!:clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

Hopefully we will be playing you in a couple of seasons!

Got any other youth players you want to send our way? :winking:

I sincerely hope so :winking:

We like Southend very much at Watford and wish you all the best. As for the youth players, we seem to have had a good relationship going on lately (starting with Theo Robinson, now Thompson and Assombalonga in consecutive seasons) and no doubt Phil Brown has already asked that very question - I'm sure we will do more business together in the future.
