There are clauses in his contract about us being promoted and he is very confident that we will be able to go up this year."

What do we reckon this is?

The poxy video advert is a pain, apart from that you read more than me!!

Perhaps, before we call it "OFFICIAL" (on the back of a paper article) we should wait till either of the clubs should announce it on their sites. I'm not saying it isn't true at all and i'm sure it will be announced shortly but nothing is OFFICIAL yet!

Pay rise no doubt.

I may have jumped to a conclusion when I saw the quote from Brown:

“I’m absolutely delighted to have signed Adam and brought him in to the football club on a permanent basis,” said Brown.

haha I started to read it then the ads tried to take over and I just gent a blank screen! Echo site is a joke, can anyone copy the article into here? Cheers

Well perhaps the electric at RH has gone again so they haven't been able to update their website!

SOUTHEND United have completed the permanent signing of Adam Thompson from Watford.
The 21-year-old defender has put pen to paper on an 18 month deal to remain at Roots Hall after a six month loan stint.
And manager Phil Brown is thrilled to have completed the transfer of the Northern Ireland under 21 captain.
“I’m absolutely delighted to have signed Adam and brought him in to the football club on a permanent basis,” said Brown.
“He’s someone who I have enjoyed working with this season and I think he’s put in some very good performances.
“That was particularly true against Millwall at the weekend and he’s someone who is also capable of playing in a few different positions which is always good to have.”
Thompson’s permanent arrival also gives the Shrimpers more strength at the back after Rob Kiernan returned to Wigan Athletic following the completion of his own loan deal.
Blues are currently still also sweating on the fitness of right-back John White.
But Thompson is also able to fill in at that position and his keenness to join also impressed Brown.
“Adam wanted to remain a part of what we’re doing here and I think that speaks volumes about how well we’re doing,” said Brown.

“There are clauses in his contract about us being promoted and he is very confident that we will be able to go up this year.”
Thompson made 12 appearances while on loan with Southend and will be pushing for another start when the fourth placed Shrimpers head to Plymouth Argyle on Saturday.

I didnt see this advert? the echo site is generally poor though

good job as John White is out for a couple of weeks...
Brown: "We've had a blow in that John White could be out for a couple of weeks with his shoulder injury so we'll have to have a re-shuffle."

Still nothing on the website though!

I would guess something that makes it easier for him to move if we don't go up. I.e we cant say no to an offer above a certain point, ( inc zero)but can if we go up

well they are hardly renowned for being up to date with their news are they?

Actually they are pretty good now.

If its not been announced by the club then I would guess its something to do with a technicality and its not quite final.

The reason the club haven't "officially" announced it as yet is most likely because they have sent the paperwork to the FA but are awaiting them to sign and stamp it and confirm by return. Nothing is ever deemed official until the FA have confirmed the transfer - especially at the moment with the embargo and whatnot.
