This is England '86

An FSIE ??? I'll take it off your hands !!!

Seriously though, thy are really sought after now if its in half decent nick it could be worth quite a bit......

Waaaay ahead of you. Unfortunatly it doesn't quite work like that. However, I have informed his high bossness that it is worth serious money for its collectability and it will probably go to auction. Failing that there will be a major power cut which will switch off all the CCTV and it will disappear into the ether ( my shed)

**Note to Boss, I but jest about the shed........... I already have a buyer!!**

A 16year old riding round on a FSIE would have a whale of a time, mine used to bomb along at 60mph

You'd think that wouldn't you but I doubt it. It has gears for one and most 16 year olds sence of history only goes back about 5 years. If it isn't a step through and lime green then it isn't cool. Tried and tested theory on our 16 year old apprentice.

Last episode next week!? Dissapointing as they could have done so much more with this! I dont know if they are setting it up for another film!?

I listened to an interview on the radio with Lol and Woody and apparantly there's a Christmas special. A new series of This Is England '90 is mooted for the future.

Are you sure that wasn't souped up? Mine was also a 50cc as that was all you was allowed to go up to at 16, but thankfully, it was restricted power, so it would do 40 maximum. It was a very cool Malaguti Cross. They did Blue and Yellow, or Red and White. The Red and White looked much funkier, so that's what I bought.

Good to hear, Paul! I think this really does have the making of something special over the next 6-18 months as it is so unique and diverse and concentrates on a time that not many other shows/programme's have yet to focus in on! Perhaps its because im at the age where its when i was "young" and im sure if they look to do something like TIE '90 and so on that interest will grow even more!

Fingers crossed as it will be a waste to build something and then just leave it at that!

Kev

I must have had a very old one..Purple it was and went like the clappers. I had a Honda AP50 as well and that went just as fast, both straight unrestricted 50cc joy machines.

Purple was the 2nd colour manufactured IIRC (the Gold ines were first 1972-1974 ) and the first to have FS1E on the side (they said SS up to then)

The mid 70's ones were usually good for 50 but had to be kept in a good state of tune, the Honda SS50 was the same engine as the C50 (step thru with legshields) I had a C50 which was, for some reason a quick one. The Fizzies only had a couple of MPH on it.
My Brother had a Garelli tiger Cross (he bought it off Chemico) and after he ditched the air filter, got dad to take a drill to the jets and fettled the ports it would scream up to the limit in all gears 9mind you it drank petrol !) and as it had 5 and the 5th was quite tall it was good for 60 with a tailwind.

Then Fantic bought out the GT 7 gears , highly tuned, but shocking cycle parts , once it got over a couple of months old it was a tad dangerous !

Wow that was intense. I can't believe they managed to get away with a few of those scenes on TV as they were hard to watch. but for me that was one of the best series on TV for some time!

Very powerful stuff so far tonight...Combo seeming to be the hero so far.

I was quite disappointed by the finale - all seemed too easy to wrap up. Combo became a bit part character, luckily turning up at exactly the right moment to play the hero. All in all, I think Meadows should have directed the lot, leaving out the "Skins" stuff from the first two parts.

Very powerful moving drama, probably the best thing on telly this year

I rang the number given at the end for "anyone effected by issues raised in this program" I don't think the bloke at the other end was overly impressed by my admission that i still have nightmares about Maradonas hand ball

I know what you mean about combo, it was a bit convenient but still really intense stuff and really well done.

I enjoyed the season as a whole but felt that the last episode was quite weak. It seemed as if the main objective was to fit Combo into the story by whatever means necessary. The story with his mum etc added nothing. Would have been a better ending if Lol has to face justice.

Maybe they wanted to wrap up the TiE era with a happy ending but it all felt too forced.

That is so not funny FS .. so why am i grinning like a loon ???
