The positive thread

Lets have a discussion about the good things at Southend United. Lets start with the construction of our new 22,000 seater stadium which is twice as big as the scummers and should be the pride of the club

Anyone else got any positives?

We are building a strong, young team (with the odd exception) with an eye to the future.

Yes. We've got a great manager (duo?) who's saved us from Conference football, dragged us up to the Championship, beaten Man Utd (with a team full of stars) and taken us to two cup finals in a short space of time.

He's signed some quality gems (Eastwood / Bailey / McCormack) and has brought a great resurgance to a club that was hanging onto the football league by a thread.

Long may they reign.

We have not had to organise a fans vigil outside the high court for a few years (which at a time of unprecedented Football club administrations is definately a positive)

Just out of interest, why would building a stadium which has only 60% of the capacity the old stadium had for the majority of its use, be too big ?

I can only assume you are referring to when Roots hall had a larger capacity, or am I missing something?

My reasons have been posted before and I don’t want to sidetrack this thread, but I can PM you with them if you really are interested.

fair call....

And here's another one.

I have a feeling Furlong may well be another superb Tilly signing. He did it with the Goat. I think he may have repeated the trick...
