The Podcast?!?

Apologies if already answered, but.....

I have downloaded the RSS software and now get the alerts when new material is put up on the official site.

How do I go about taking it the stage further and getting new material automatically put into i-tunes?

Thanks

HK Blue - i-Tunes are in the process of adding the podcast to it's directory.

I'll let all know when it is available.

Why was it a let-down True Blue?
1. Not exactly a media breakthrough
2. most of the stuff on there 99% of us know from 1 the message board or 2 echo
3. why when you can just download it from the site without all this RSS run around
1. Well, it's a football media first - as we said from the start.  No other football team has an official dedicated podcast.  Not even the likes of Chelsea, Real Madrid, Inter Milan.  That has to be highlighted as a major coup for the club.

2. I seriously doubt 99% of people have heard selected interviews, gained Nick Alliker's insights into games or know about ticketing information for up and coming away games.

3. If you don't like the RSS format then please try some of the other sites which carry the feed.  There are now plenty out there - three have already been highlighted elsewhere on this forum.

It's a shame you don't appreciate the podcast, TrueBlue.  I hope your thoughts are not shared by the majority.

Remember I, along with Nick and David, supply this service for free... none of us are paid for this.  We do it for the love of the club and because we want to give SUFC as much publicity as possible.
I happen to love it, and love the fact the club are trying new things and being innovative.

Keep up the great work chaps

I think its a great idea and listened to this one thought it was excellent, a new and different way of hearing news. I plan to listen to it every week, but really cant be bothered with the hassle of the RSS thing. Dont suppose, just like this time, someone could just post the link up every week? Please

Oh, and in the background near the beginning, can hear the announcer from cardiff saying Freddys name just after the goal. Brings it all back, what a day!

Don't need to really when you have your own TV channel!
Don't we have bluesTV? Admittedly it's not avaliable to the public but still it is our own TV channel.

If you want to download the podcasts but you can't be bothered to set up the RSS feed you can do the following:

1. Click on the RSS icon on the official side. This should bring up an XML message. You can collapse and expand the message by clicking on the + and - symbols.

2. Between each pair of <item> </item> tags is a description of the content and of each podcast plus a link to the a link to the podcast MP3 file.

3. The link to each podacst MP3 is between the  <link>......</link> XML tags. It will look something like:

mms://video.premiumtv.co.uk/southend/podcast/Pod 5905.mp3

3. Cut and paste this link into your browser.

4. Job done.

I can&#39;t inderstand why people are moaning about the club offering this service. If you think it&#39;s a waste of time then don&#39;t bother with it - simple. I think it&#39;s a great thing - if only it worked for Mac users

RSS really isn't that hard to get going though.

Still some people won't like it, as with all change!
