Of course the CEO would have been jnformed of the National League's decision. The question is when, and were the new management team advised of this. It wouldn't have happened overnight, this could and would have been foreseen.

I imagine they have known for a short while but that’s not the issue. The main problem is Ron’s financial structuring for the club. The rest is a distraction. No one or nothing else is to blame, not even 0.001%
I agree with that. Ron is to blame. I was just pointing out that they had to know and inferring that we were now meant to be operating financially within our means, and are supposed to be in a new era of transparency and open communication: something not aligned to previous tenures under Ron. Alas, the club have not really changed persona, just it’s clothes.

It makes it very difficult, nearly impossible for the management team on Thursday night at The Cliffs (If it goes ahead) to answer any questions.

If anything they have like previous staff before them believed RM. We should feel for them having an impossible job.
Been postponed to February.

So what happens next? It's absolutely pointless jumping on the Stan out band waggon, it's not his fault that Ron has got himself even deeper in the brown stuff. I'm not even sure why he's got into this situation again, and I never will know probably. Without a doubt the 'Martin Out' campaign will resurrect itself and protests will intersperse each game, but how does that help the team during a game? At the moment my only concern is that we avoid another relegation as that would surely see the club off completely. So what to do? If there was ever a moment when we needed an intervention from outside buyers, well now is it. But it has got to be attractive enough to tempt Ron to part with his dream, or at least part of it, and it has to be attractive enough to attract new investment. There aren't a lot of other alternatives that I can see now short of dying and starting again. I'll carry on attending games and supporting the team but it's going to be a very rocky road for the next few months until we see how things unravel.

Christ, who'd be a Southend supporter? Sadly, I would.

Just over twelve months ago we were in court facing a petition to wind the club up, and, Ron produced something in the region of one million pounds to keep the show on the road.
I would imagine that finding the sum required was not easy and it must have taken some effort, and, who knows, perhaps some sacrifice as well.
Had Ron wanted the Club to fold that would have been the time to allow it to die.
On the day of the hearing I was very pessimistic and resigned to the fact that we would be wound up and was mildly surprised Ron made what must have been a supreme effort.
Let us be quite clear; it would have been easy for him not to have produced the money and for us to have gone the way of Macclesfield. The club only exists, and, has done for some time, because Ron is willing to commit significant sums of money to it.
As had been endlessly pointed out before Ron's financial position is just not secure enough to guarantee on a regular basis the funding the Club requires to keep it going. When cash flow is tight for him (as it has been all too often in recent years) the club suffers, and, the inevitable juggling act follows.
If someone is very rich and owns many assets being charged with fraud has little effect. You just fund your legal team, and, await the court date.
If your position is not so secure it can be a nightmare. Firstly, there is the not inconsiderable cost of legal advice and representation. This will be a constant and heavy drain on your resources.
If you owe money your creditors may become restless on learning of your troubles and seek greater collateral and/or security if not repayment. Do not underestimate the difficulties that can cause
On top of everything comes more stress and strain both as a result of the original prosecution as well as trying to keep on top of your business affairs.
Sell the club? As has been pointed out many times before there is nothing to sell. If someone wants to buy a lot of debt, a place in the National league and the registrations of a few players perhaps Ron could be persuaded to sell as he might think it has all become just too much for him. The Club might be cheap to acquire but who could afford the cost of running it?
Someone dust off 'Plan B'. Once Ron appeared in court more than his juggling act was needed to keep the club going. Unless I have grossly underestimated Ron's financial resources however bad things are now they will be worse in six month's time.
Ron will be blamed by many but not by me. Without him and his money Southend would have folded some time ago.
It was ironic that his court appearance came just a day after what should have been a triumph for him when the Council voted to go ahead on the FF development.
Potentially, this is a much much more serious situation than we have faced before.
I would suggest that no Ron Martin means no Southend United. Those who hate Ron may soon see the fulfillment of their wishes, but, should it happen, there will likely be no Club left to support.
Ha ha! Mate they’d love a guy like you in North Korea, you’d be one of those guys crying in the streets for the death of a Dear Leader. Propaganda at its finest.

The questions we need answering are:

What is the amount owed to HMRC?

Is it owed by SUFC or RM personally (perhaps linked to the court case)?

Is a lump sum required and/or payment schedule?

When and where is the cash coming from to get this resolved swiftly?

Can the NL impose points deductions on us as a result of the irregularities?

Now this is out there, the club need to use this as an opportunity to show some transparency. Be honest, front it and provide answers and solutions. Any further secret squirrel, brushing under the carpet behaviour will only inflame the situation further.

I really feel for the new guys. Just when it looked like we were getting our ducks in a row with good people in the right places. The rug has been pulled from underneath them. Again.

We would of had several decent new players in by now if it wasn’t for this. Now they’ve gone elsewhere and until it’s sorted Kev and the team need to work a miracle to keep this lot above water.

The national League have more strict rules with clubs in financial difficulties compared to the football league(for some reason) and don't give you a licence for the start of the season if you don't meet the criteria. I wonder how we will fair at the end of the season with these rules. If we stay up they might just relegate us anyway.

RM has never paid before it is nearly to late. When is the HMRC court case? (better keep that separate from other court cases in the wind) ?

We could be in this position for months again. Wasn't it the same last January? So any hopes of bringing in new players or staff being allowed to do their jobs sits in limbo once more.

Royally ****ed springs to mind.

I thought we signed players last January.

Lovely news to wake up to. Not surprised in the slightest. I fear the only way the pain is ever going to end is if we are no longer a club. So fed up with this shambles all because of one man. Ron you are a **** f*** off.

At least I have the cricket to enjoyy ahhhhh Fuuuuu noooooo
