The New Burger bar shut off to those in The West

Firstly i do not understand why it was shut off to fans in The West Stand. I did speak to Pete the head steward and he said he had been moaning about the decision all week but it had been taken by the management of the club. I heard that they didnt want to mix those in the North with those in the West but don't really understand why, surely those fans would return to seats they bought? We are all SUFC supporters after all.

I had a constant stream of people who had not eaten beforehand and wanted to visit the burger hut today asking me what has happened, they chose not to eat at all...Why take away something that people had just got used to. The fact that the club never told anybody in advance of their plans to shut it off to the West annoyed all.

Lastly the guy who owns the truck was not happy and i guess you can understand why when having a choice to serve to a stand holding 2600 to a stand with about 500 in it. It just did not make logical sense to him and must of effected him financially.

I think it should of been open to all

Totally ridiculous decision. My son and his cousin were 2 of the fans that didn’t eat before the game. Why would fans from the North Bank and West Stand mixing be an issue? Also, why wasn’t the decision made public prior to the game?

I too was also disappointed i was not able to purchase anything from them today having recently started purchasing food/drinks at the ground again.
Why was it shut off?
The West and part of the North Bank was home supporters so dont really understand the logic of it and why introduce something and then not be able to use it?
Guess will have to ensure i eat prior to going to a game

Maybe the new food truck is taking too much business from the club food stand in the west?
Without doubt but the offerings are completely different. Most I spoke to who would have bought at the new place did not want to buy food in the stand. So that is a loss to the club overall.

Also very disappointed I wasn't able to access the new burger bar, hadn't had the chance to experience it prior to today and was looking forward it. I'd assumed it was perhaps something the police stipulated with the NB being opened to home fans but if it was a club decision then that is really dumb.

If the club are worried about losing potential income from the West burger bar then they should up their game to compete.

Isn't the West stand food place where the upgraded club burger is on sale - in an attempt to compete?

A poor attempt unfortunately hence why I said they need to up their game. My friend had the 'upgraded' west burger today and although better said it doesn't compare in any way. My other mate always has the west burger though as to him it's tradition coming to football and having a sh*t Roots Hall burger whilst watching (usually) sh*t football.

I could understand the decision if the ticket prices were different to those in the West Stand but they are all the same so the decision to deny access to the mobile unit is somewhat odd.Perhaps someone from the club would kindly explain

The only non-cynical explanation I can come up with is that the club have either chosen to - or been required to - keep West and North fans separate for some kind of crowd management/fire safety reasons, hence the Fairfax entrance being used. If the crowds have to be seperate then I guess the new burger van has to be on the North side to ensure the North has any food at all.

If that's the case (and we don't even know that it is) they should just say so, and they should have said so before today. Clearly the rollout of X block/North Bank has been challenging behind the scenes but the communication has been woeful throughout.

The 500 or so people that were in the North Bank could easily have been accommodated in X Block and then we could all have used the new burger bar.

I still think having the Blue voice in X Block is the way forward rather than the North Bank. Yes open the North Bank to home fans when demand allows, but sell X Block first.

It was also frustrating that you couldn't get from the West to the newly refurbished toilets. But, thankfully, that's all we have to complain about after yesterday.

Very, very disappointed when I got to the ground to find I couldn't access the new Food Truck from the West Stand. As I've said previously, the fare is really good and the options were increasing - another home game where the club had no discretionary spend from me...

Do we want a sustainable club? Yes. Is there anything I could buy? No. QED.

I am not surprised. Once the North Bank was opened, then the Club won't have wanted free flowing movement of supporters between it and the the West Stand and that will be on a safety basis.

I've not got round to seeing the food van myself, but surely the answer is to use it as a buffer between the two areas and serve from both sides - if that's possible. I said to Kev when I heard about it, that the owner wouldn't have been happy seeing his revenue drop so much.
