My eyes don't deceive me. I refrained from sharing this before but as it's becoming more acceptable to talk about it, I had a serious worry about a friend who I played football with.

He had his third vaccination (at 21) and played the next day. Within 10 mins he looked visibly concerned and said his heart was beating uncontrollably. Thought for a minute that he might collapse, dreaded the thought that I might have to perform CPR on a mate. He rested up in the weeks after this incident, suspected myocarditis.

Not the only person I know to fall ill due to this.

Another friend (20 years old) was admitted to hospital in November for 2 weeks with serious myocarditis. He still suffers now with low energy and fatigue. Had to have the jabs to keep his job. Now he struggles to even do his job.

I'm not saying that this will have occurred to everyone who took the vaccinations. They will have saved people who were older or more vulnerable too.

But the consequences in younger people are starting to come out. Two people in my immediate circle of 8-10 people suffered. I thought I'd give my perspective from people in their 20s.

I think the thing with Covid the illness itself and vaccination risk there are circumstances where both arguments can make valid points.My fit 32 year old brother in law was very unwell with covid in hospital few days blood clots on lungs breathing apparatus etc see horrible things in there.Then a local fella in hid 60s had all vaccinations and a blood clot caused him to lose a leg and he is convinced it was his vaccinations.I am fully vaccinated but it's a personal choice each to there own

I'm amazed the BBC had him on - maybe they didn't know he was going to say that. I guess the elephant in the room is getting harder to ignore. Predictably they're being criticised for daring to interview someone who goes against the vaccine dogma. I thought science was supposed to be about questioning things based on evidence.

True SS, but there a idiots who believe man didn't land on the moon. so always open to debate with them, but you never can win, as they are so set in the ways of conspiracy theories, gives them lonely nights researching something to do before Pornhub and their mums go to bed

this cardiologist isn't a specific expert on this and the BBC should know better than to air fringe views. He doesn't even work within the NHS, and he doesn't do any research relevant to this question. Sadly being a medic doesn't make you immune from starting to go down a rabbit hole based on social media/podcasts/youtube etc.

A reminder that myocarditis is not uncommon in people who have had, or have, COVID-19. Myocarditis due to the vaccine is extremely rare, and in these cases it's often mild.

It wasn't based on social media it was based on his father dying of a cardiac arrest after he'd had his booster, which prompted him to do further research. Why does it matter if he works in the NHS or not? He's a very respected cardiologist, not some crackpot 'conspiracy theorist'.

On your second point, this is from the BMJ: "The Pfizer and Moderna clinical trial reanalysis by Fraiman and colleagues indicated the mRNA vaccines were associated with an additional serious adverse event for every 800 people vaccinated, far more than the 1-2 for each million reported for vaccines in general." So not that rare.

That perhaps explains why it's no longer deemed necessary to wear masks in SOS & Basildon hospitals although theyre still required here in Spain (and at health centres too),

Masks are still available and recommended but not mandatory.
Hand sanitizer is also in free and abundant locations at all entrances to the hospital and individual wards, yet few choose to use it.
Most staff I have seen do both masks and hand hygiene.
Public..... not so much.

And, personally, this time around I won't be having a booster jab.
Not that I am advocating that just that for me, fairly fit etc it doesn't seem on balance necessary.
I will isolate if infected despite that also, now, be non mandatory.

Asia update.

HK no longer mandatory for some weeks. Still 70 percent wearing on public transport and still far too many including families with young kids wearing them in wide open air. Stories of Kids at school terrified to take them off.

Bangkok, mandatory on public transport, no one told me and the other tourists that on the airport train to city ha ha (but no one moaned). Out and about probably 15-20 percent still wearing.
