The Gurkha Justice Campaign

The Gurkha Justice Campaign

Gurkhas are fighting for Justice. They want the same terms and conditions as their UK and Commonwealth counterparts.

Britain has had no greater friends than the Gurkhas. They have served all across the world in the defence of our Country for nearly 200 years. Over 45,000 died in the two World Wars as part of the British Army. They are still fighting in the British Army today.

You may have seen in the media that the Gurkhas have been fighting in Parliament and the Courts. Step by step, things are getting better - but there is a long way to go.

On Tuesday 30th September, the High Court ruled their treatment had been unlawful in terms of the right to live in the UK if they retired before 1997.

Following that fantastic High Court decision, the Government has to change the law on how it treats Gurkhas. We demand the full, fundamental change in law that will allow all retired Gurkhas the right to live here.

By signing up below you will be expressing your support for all Gurkhas. You will be signing our petition, and we will be able to contact you in the future as we mount the largest ever campaign to get them the Justice that they deserve.

Join me in the campaign: together, we can finally right this wrong.

Think this is a extremely important petition, and we should all show our appreciation and gratitude to these guys.

duly signed sir

duly signed sir

Thanks Numphgirl

Despite some on this thread that have appeared to have hijacked or diverted it for their own purposes.

I still feel the Gurkha's deserve our support and gratitude for their endevours for this fine country of ours.

The loss of over 45,000 Gurkha's fighting for this country of ours, is not in my opinion to be taken lightly or a laughing matter.

Any that have survived deserve the right to live in the country they fought for.

So I hope ALL ShrimperZone members will still sign the campaign.

Thanks Numphgirl

No problem graysblue, did you sign the Gurkha Campaign?

Another beer on the 1st big boy???

I will be in the Spread on the 1st as normal Aberbeen Shrimper, and I am sure we may bump into each other, especally if your buying. ;)

More importantly have you signed the Gurkha's Campaign?

How can anyone object to Joanna Lumley's stance on this cause? I admire celebrities with the gumption and eloquence to get up and fight the corner for a genuine cause rather than the wishy washy things they normally go on about. And can I just say I'm getting a bit cheesed off with so many potentially good threads getting totally ruined and then locked because of in house fighting! Was really looking forward to the Bond villain one going some distance yet, had forgotten about Sean Bean!

what needs sorting out now is their pensions, there are two retired ghurka's who work security at my work who after 22years of service are rewarded with a measley £93 a month.

Disgrace!
