The difference between Promotion and Relegation - Leon Clarke

Please don't accuse me of being a doom and gloom merchant - I only have the club's best interests at heart . But I wonder if those that matter at the club are aware of the striking difference one striker has made to our season so far ?

We have got 4 working days of the transfer window left and I sincerely hope that we are not going to leave everything resting on just Lee Barnard's young shoulders .

Im sure the club do know but that doesnt make it any easier to find anyone able to score goals freely.

You are right though, one player can turn it, we saw it with Freddy, Scunthorpe with Sharp etc.

I appreciate the comments that we are still scoring but theres been a number of games where we have lacked the cutting edge where a striker able to pull out a bit of magic (Oldham/Bristol R etc) could mean the difference between 0 or 1 points and 3.

I liked what I saw from Barnard although a brief 30 minutes isnt much to judge him on.

Yes but I would argue it would be less difficult to train the team to create chances than to constantly live in hope of unearthing another 'magic' striker.

Agree with that we do need to create more chances.

I actually think a half decent striker will make more of the half chances as well though.

There's literally no way we can replace one of our best players. We're never going to make the playoffs.

People from MK may want to look away......now

;)

You wouldn't recognize Leon Clarke now that he's lost about 2 Stone. I thought he was the beez neez when he played for us. Love to have him back here one day.He was a constant threat. Only really had one stinker for us and that was because his head wasn't right because his future wasn't sorted out, but too many judged him on that game, including the management.

I take it you never dolled out £40 on juice to roll up to Donny in January to watch him stroll about losing possession constantly putting us on the back foot.
Or race about at work on a Tuesday so that you could rag it up to Nottingham to see us play Forest, only for that idiot to get himself sent-off in the first-half.

At least Bailey bloody tried when he played for us.

As a supporter, you know when you've been had alright.

I know someone who sat next to the scouts at the Fulham friendly and was listening to their conversation... It was about Leon Clarke.
They (the scouts) were dumbfounded when he wasn't signed by us and they were saying that Clarke actually offered to half his wage request to come to Blues. They also alleged that Tilson had told him (Clarke) to f*ck off as he doesn't make second chance offers!
Allegedly
