I'd imagine its do with permission / rights - I dont think they've shown any of the presentations (for man of the match etc...) straight after the game and the fact they didn't show the players going round the pitch live left me a little dissapointed but there must be a reason for it but i guess its because of permission rights etc...
Let's just say I'm not happy with the result but the best team at the end of the day won and the rebuilding of Australia can finally begin after stuttering a few times after 2005. Hopefully we can play some new players so they can play for almost ten years and not one or two.
Ponting will miss the final test at the SCG and Clarke will captain the side, and it looks like Khawaja will get his debut. I/m not sure if Clarke is currently worth his place let alone the captaincy, we'll see. I'm still surprised David Hussey can't get in the side.
A sign of how bad Ponting and Clarke have been......Khawaja cant help but get more runs then Ponting, and Clarke can't get any less runs with the burden of the captaincy.
Have they retained Beer as the spinner? I would ahve thought they would give Clarke O'Keefe or Hauritz as he will be more familiar to him then Beer. Hopefully they have kept Beer though as I can't believe he is as good as the other two.
Hauritz has apparently scored hundreds in his last two games. He may be a better option than Smith with the bat as well!
I thought Beer was picked for Perth because it was his home ground (despite him having only played there a couple of times) and then retained because the selectors were criticised for panicking.
If Bollinger and Johnson both play, Swanny will have a field day with all the rough created...
Can't see anything other than a victory in Sydney, especially with a lame duck leading the Aussies. Personally I think Haddin should be made their next permanent captain; think he looks a player and a no nonsense attitude about him, but I reckon they'll play it safe with Clarke in the immediate future if Ponting goes.
Had a thought that this series may ironically end up putting Finn's international career on hold for a while, despite having taken a bundle of wickets. With Broad an absolute certainty to retake his place when fit because of his all round abilities, and Tremlett having been a revelation, I don't see an easy route back for the young pretender. Finn could end up spending a couple of years waiting in the wings unless Collingwood retires and England are forced to play 5 bowlers. Any thoughts?
