Zone Competition The Apprentice Sweepstake 2024

Absolute travesty of an outcome last night - though the two best candidates (Tre and Flo) had appalling business projects and Paul, rightly, ditched his original scrubs plan and didn't want to give up half his existing business to LS.

How the hell pieman Phil is there after losing 9 of the 10 tasks is unbelievable but I do kind of think it's the one LS has had his eye on as being the easiest to invest in, from the start.

Tom Pellereau from series 7 was on the loosing side 8 times before wining the final.

If we (the audience) was given an insight as to their business plan from episode 1 I'd dare say we could all pretty much guess the finalists from that.

I personally thought it was going to be a Tre vs Flo final until I heard their business ideas. Lord Sugar more often than not likes to make an investment into an already established business. That's why he wanted a slice of Paul's current dental practice rather than what might come from his new practice in Pudsey.

As soon as Flo revealed her plan I knew she was gone. Sooooooo boring, and with Sir Alan already having 3 recruitment companies it was highly unlikely he'd invest in another. Tre was easily the best candidate, but possibly had the worst business plan. Shame really as he should have walked it this year. I can see Phil pulling it off, which is remarkable given how badly he's done up until now.

Yeah, I think one a few years back had a gym plan - a woman, as I recall, with gyms in the City of London. Pies is a different direction.

Yes, I think there is a reason that Phil hasn't been fired.

It's almost as if the show should be 2 weeks only. Week 1: Interviews with Claude & Co where their business plans are scrutinised.
Week 2: Grand final.

Phil making it this far shows everything else we see is just window dressing. Ironically, I seem to remember one of inventor Tom's best tasks in that series (7) was the popup British pie shop.

I watched season 2 back the other week. A really strong final 5 in that year. Seeing candidates like "The Badger" shows how much the quality has devolved over the years.

Totally agree - as much as I used to like this programme it is turning into a bore and sometimes I cringe at the candidates
Lord Sugar - thinks his funny with his one liners but he isn’t and you have seriously question the the process for candidates to appear on the programme.

I make you right. If their business ideas and plans are so bad, what's the point in all the tasks ? I'm sure they've read these before the show has started. The fact Phil the pieman has made it to the finals is a farce. Rubbish at the tasks, but has a decent business, which the others didn't

Programme is an utter farce and an insult to the intelligence of viewers. Guy looses every week and gets to the final what a **** show.

If it was all about business plans it may as well be Dragons den

Surprised at a win for my sweepstake candidate Rachel, really thought Lord Sugar had his "eyes on the pies".

Winnings to go to the Zone please.
If the pie bloke had won the show would have lost the little credibility it has left. Loses like every task bar 1 yet makes the final.
