That elusive extra goal per game

Last season there was talk on here about the difference an extra goal per game would have made to our season. In fact it would have produced 33 extra points.

We hoped for an improvement this season but with five games to play we would now have gained 34 points extra had our strike force managed one goal more in each match played. We'd be five points clear of Barnet (who would have two less if we'd drawn with them in August).

I know this is a bit over-simplistic but it shows just how close we could be to being serious automatic promotion contenders if we can just put one more chance away on a regular basis.

No doubt this hasn't escaped COSU's attention and they'll be trying to remedy the situation in the summer.

I'm not sure about an extra goal per game but an extra goal here & there would have turned a number of draws into wins .......... and the club would be sitting securely in the play-off places.

For me it starts with having a solid & constant defensive four. There has been too much change there this season for a whole variety of reasons.

But it is what it is. [gallic shrug of shoulders; pulls face] We'll get promoted one year ............. just hope it is sooner rather than later.
