AVG 2pts per game is currently top 2 form - imho that'd be a very tough kpiLoosing the opening 5 games of the next season or averaging less than 2pts per game over the first 10 games

A poor start to next season, i.e mid table or lower around 1/3rd of the way through. I imagine this is similar to what COSU are thinking as well.Serious question. Those that are Maher in. What would it take to change your mind?
You are a troll. The constant criticism of KM and the team is now nauseating, please give it a rest.Always next year. I am not a troll but a supporter 0f more than sixty years standing, mostly standing. The endless excuses for the abysmal standard of football served up by a negative and tactically inept mansger sickens me to befrank. He needs to go. Now.
Just this.A poor start to next season, i.e mid table or lower around 1/3rd of the way through. I imagine this is similar to what COSU are thinking as well.
The squad currently isn’t good enough to get promoted. And whether those that are Maher out want to admit it or not, the embargo at the start of the season undoubtedly lowered the quality of player we were able to bring in and has contributed to this.
Maher deserves a go at an uninterrupted pre-season and summer transfer window. If there are still no signs of improvement after this, that’s when it will be a time for a change.
This is also the reality of what will happen, he isn’t going to get sacked before next season. So may as well get used to it whether you’re in or out.
Agree. All the name calling is unnecessary. This is a place for opinions like them or not (within reason).Must we start labelling people trolls for differences in opinion?
The ignore button is there if you don't wish to see someone elses difference of opinion, which they are entitled to.You are a troll. The constant criticism of KM and the team is now nauseating, please give it a rest.
As has been alluded to previously on this thread, you and your fellow 'haters', who contribute nothing financially to this site, are making me post less and less here and will soon drive fair minded posters off this site.
It's already become 'toxic town' due to constant whiners, please give it a rest.

Get your logic ,but if you give KM a part of next season and he fails, the new manager is left with Mahers signings ,and we're in a similar position of giving the new manager time to settle in and make changes..It's a big call as whatever the transfer budget is next season it has got to make a difference otherwise we lose the momentum and goodwill of the fans to the new ownersA poor start to next season, i.e mid table or lower around 1/3rd of the way through. That is why action is needed now to give new management time to bed in before next season.Get your logic ,but if you give KM a part of next season and he fails, the new manager is left with Mahers signings ,and we're in a similar position of giving the new manager time to settle in and make changes..It's a big call as whatever the transfer budget is next season it has got to make a difference otherwise we lose the momentum and goodwill of the fans to the new owners
Yeah it’s a bit of sour point which people beat each other with, but the fact is the teams that go up tend to be able to score goals at will and so the frustration comes when you can see a 0-0 coming like Friday or having to rely on winning games 1-0 and putting extra pressure on the defence. We need to acore more goals, and that will bring entertainment even if we are mediocre for the other 60 mins.I get the whole entertainment v results argument. But one of the two would be nice to see
Wrong recruitment over the summer….The wrong recruitment over the summer, along with our better players leaving or becoming disheartened, could impact on far more than one season. KM has brought players in and despite all of the talk about DD, analysis, players being his choice, he has failed to get a decent, consistent tune out of them.
Poor pre-season, embargo, third choice players, yes we have heard the same stale arguments time and again but, the key issue is whether we believe KM has got the best out of the squad he has. For me that's a no. His most loyal supporters prefer to dwell on 'circumstances' beyond his control and his heroic, even epic stand in the face of adversity. He deserves many an accolade for his playing and managing contribution to this club, that is beyond question, but it does not mean he is the right man to take us further.
The vast majority and on this forum, myself included, would absolutely be chuffed if he were to bring us success. I just do not think he will and I believe he has spurned opportunities to do so already, not least this season in particular.
We fixate on tactics and formations… what we need is quality in key positions..which means avoiding for the first time embargoes and investing..Yet we continue to play the same way. This is where Kev will need to learn for next season. Whether it be new tactics or new players if we don’t improve on both we will just be on repeat again next season. I love Kev and co and want them to be the ones to succeed but this past few weeks in particular have shown that they may not be the ones to take us forward. God help them if we don’t win tomorrow
Yes, he overachieved, he had a good season and I think it could well be the best he ever does as a manager. We’ll see won’t we.Overachieved with a ten point deduction![]()
Quite with embargoes a thing of the past, and big attendances, the spotlight will not be just on Kev this summer, but COSU in terms of who we bring in.I can't help but feel that's KM's approach to his role during his tenure as Head Coach has been influenced by a 'comfort' zone that others in the same role would envy. Let's look at it practically. The backdrop for Kev is one of, embargos, point deductions, limited squad options, take over delays, below standard training facilities, inadequate pre-season preparations, but all has been endured since COSU's involvement with the knowledge that in reality their expectations as owners for promotion is very much a like to have at this time but not a basic requirement. Kev has had and still will have time from COSU even if elements of our fanbase have exhausted theirs.
Yes any coaches job is to win matches and in the process avoid relegation and Kev has managed that since he took the role, obviously never enough for the fans but current COSU requirements met.
So arguably Kev has had the comfort of going about things without certain pressures from above. For example he wants to play a certain way but doesn't have the right players to naturally play in the roles required. A manger in fear of losing his job most likely would change and play to the players natural strengths and ability but in the absence of such pressure Kev has adopted the approach of looking to improve and develop players into a fit for a preferred way of playing, a rather rigid and somewhat luxury approach. Simply to many of our squad are not upto making those skill set changes.
The key to next season lays with COSU's approach to promotion which I strongly believe within the group will be looked on with a little more urgency and with it greater expectations of the management team, especially if they feel they have been able to provide them with the right start to the season for once, which you have to say looks like being the case. Obviously we know Kev wants to achieve success but next season the expectation level will further increase and not just from the Roots Hall faithful in my opinion.
