The segregation was poor last night I felt, it was fairly obvious to me there was gonna be some problems.

Yep but that was down to Crewe supporters moving the barrier stuff across. I got in the ground quite early and it was stretched over almost a whole block to begin with, but by the time they scored, they'd pushed it back to maybe a line of half a dozen seats width. I wonder if it's worth putting a fixed barrier of some kind in in down the middle? It would be a huge disappointment to lose what we have of the North next season.

The segregation was untied which i think was due to fire reasons on our behalf. The only exit for us from where the drum was was down and to go right. I think you'll find this is why the net was untied down with plastic cables ties. Meanwhile all thats needed is a segregation net that can be tied down easily.

But how funny was the segregation net getting crowd surfed in the North Bank Legendary!

until it got stuck round the post :hilarious: was funny though bet it looked good from the other stands

It was, we were far too close to them. Made for a good atmosphere but could have got nasty. The guy with the blue hate who got chucked in the first half. he was actually a southend fan even though most in the north bank thought he was a crewe fan. He got chucked out for reacting to crewe fans because they threw a handful of coins at him hitting him in the face.
Coins, Crewe.Were they pennies ?

To steer this back on topic, well done to all involved with TBV in securing the North Bank and hopefully we'll be able to stay there for next season. There's only a few games that may attract a large away support such as Gillingham, Oxford, Wycombe, Daggers, Wimbledon and Luton (are they in the BSP play off final?).

I think OBL is right, some sort of physical barrier would solve a lot of problems. If it could be removable somehow for big games (if we get any next season) then it could be taken down maybe.

It would be a shame if the North Bank isnt used as it did make a difference.

At Swansea's old ground the Vetch the last time we played there they had a virtical net from the roof down
This could be an option.

I think I speak on behalf of TBV when I say that if it be a condition that we keep the north there has to be something like that we would agree and go as far as trying to raise funds to help the club pay for this leaving more money in the kitty to strengthen the squad

Did anyone at Crewe away notice that where we put the drum, the stand had a massive bar coming from the roof. This could be there to 'hold the stand up', although if you went further to the sides of the stand, the bar was smaller. This could be used to kill off our atmosphere within the ground, so all of our voices/waves of sound from our stand got cancelled out. Although on every other stand in that ground didn't have a bar, therefore their voices/chants would be heard more easier.

I may not be 100% right here, so don't shoot me down if this is all a load of s**t...

But for next season it could be possible to put a little plastic bar or something for the north east part of the north bank (Where the away fans are) this means that the majority of their chants wouldn't be as loud as they are now? Then if there is nothing in front of the home section of the north bank, the sound waves wouldn't be stopped by anything, hence making our section much louder and effective on the pitch? It would make it much easier for us to out sing the travelling support? and we could incorporate it with something to do with the segregation?

Anyways, well done to all involved! It has been immense and makes footballing much better regardless of what's happening on the pitch! :)

If we had the North Bank, we would have gone up as we haven't lost many games since we moved back to North Bank. I hope one or two idiot didn't ruin it for us. Our first summer signing is keeping our North Bank.

From memory I think the only game we lost, since we had the north this season. Was Aldershot 0-1.

5 wins, 3 draws and the 1 defeat.

Over the course of the season, if we kept that record up it could be worth 46 points...

I dont agree we need a strong vocal away support so we can try and match it and better it with our own - if their game is lowered then we wont have to raise ours! which defeats the object

Says it all really!

Although I'll personally never defer from the South Upper (enjoy the view too much!), those that pushed the North Bank campaign deserve great applause. It made a huge difference to the atmosphere and it's great to be able to hear our own fans in great voice at the other end, rather than exclusively the away support. Another season in League 2 means we can at least continue filling out the North Bank for the vast majority of fixtures.

Yeah at least we will be able to have the benefit of the north for a whole season now!

I agree that the North Bank makes a big difference to the atmosphere but if we are going to open it up to home fans, then surely the whole of the West Stand can be opened including the end bit between the walls ( I forget which block it is but the one that is never opened unless we have a really full house). It looked daft on Wednesday night with the NB packed and loads sitting on the corner bit, only to have a vacant block before the usual West Stand seats. Otherwise, I'm all for the NB. Well done everyone.

just an opinion but it would be good if the blues could shoot towards the north bank in the second half. Imagine eastwood scoring a 90th minute winner infront of the north bank faithful :winking:
