If the success of the last ten years is nothing to do with Ron, then equally the relegation and current predicament are nothing to do with him either. ?
Ok, answer this then, did Ron score the goals? Did Ron pick the team? Did Ron scout the players i.e. Freddy, Bailey? Was Ron part of the first team set-up? Did Ron train the players? All Ron did was appoint Tilly (which is the best thing he's done) and open his chequebook, therefore he had not a lot to do with our success. Please state otherwise.
No he didnt score that goals but without his appointment of Tilly and Brush, lucky or not, and without paying the transfer fees and wages of the players that the most successful management team we have ever had, wanted him to then we wouldnt have had the success. And without him there probably wouldnt be a Southend United.
The current predicament we're in, is infact the fault of the entire board. They are the people who run this club, therefore if they run it sh*t (as it has been for the past 4-5 years) then they are all accountable. We are skint etc etc, this cannot be blamed on global recession blah blah, it's because we were spending ridiculous amounts of money on wages and plans for a make-believe stadium.
I agree that he has mismanaged the clubs finances BUT without showing the ambition he did and taking a risk then we wouldnt have had the success we did and you would be slaughtering him for not being ambitious, the guy cant win !
Therefore, Ron - nothing to do with our success,
The Board - their fault we're in this current predicament

As i've said, i thought he wanted to appoint Adkins, but was swayed by the fans calling for Tilson to be hired.
Fair enough he's put money in for transfers etc, but lets be honest, its no more than what 95% of chairmen do in the football league. That's his job. He hasn't done it out of the kindness of his own heart.

But it's that risk that now has us in a very perilous position. If the worse case scenario happened, there would only be one man to blame. Lets just hope that day never comes, even though i fear we are in for some more shocks down the line
Try not using hindsight yourself !! Do you think RM and his merry men achieved something another person(chairman) could not ? Tilly and Brush are pushing water uphill, and hitting above their weight,no thanks from the present owners. As mentioned earlier,we are in a most precarious position at this moment of time.I feel uneasy about the situation.
No I agree it is very possible that another chairman MIGHT have achieved all that RM has, but they also MIGHT NOT, especially without taking risks.
RM has taken a big risk with the future of our club itself, BUT the game is not over yet, we still have 14 games left, thats 42 points and we need 18. RM is still apparently moving forward with FF but what i do believe is that he has invested too much money in the club not to pursue it to the end and when he does i have no problem with him making money out of it. We stand more chance of survival at FF than at Roots Hall with or without RM.
