**** off you ********. try putting some time and effort into your posts rather than being a **** and a troll.

Pity you didn't put a bit more effort into making the links work. That way people could actually check out some of the obscure music you profess to like.:winking:

The links work fine if you have Spotify, as I noted.

Correct but Sting is actually better than you give him credit for.I really don't care whether he's fashionable with the cognoscenti or not. There were some great jazz players on his first solo Blue Turtles album for example.

Oh no he isn`t :raspberry:

Kenny Kirkland and Branford Marsalis, who both play on that album, have a formidable reputation in modern jazz.I saw them tour the record here and (not suprisingly)they wiped the floor with Sting on stage.

You may not like Sting(an understatement I imagine)but you can't deny he's always had the good sense(and taste)to surround himself with good musicians both on record and live.
ps What Blues music are you listening to these days?

1/10. Haven't heard the others.

If you like brass you will love the JB’s and Hypnotic BE tracks. If you have ever seen Midnight Cowboy or the Really Wild Show you will love the John Barry track. His Name and Grimes are 4AD old and new which are impossible not to love. Beth Jeans is new folk and I love her more after she opens her mouth but I loved her before. Leila’s Beatles cover and Burial are all spooky lovable atmospherics. Godspeed are intense slow build noise merchants but its like an intense love. And you love Dexy’s.

I made my mother in law buy it for me for my birthday a few years back - I'd always pick something really difficult for her to ask for and on the cover its in Spanish (or French........maybe French as Godspeed are Canadian) so once she got through the stupid long band name she then had to get though 'Levez Vos Skinny...'. Saw them at Troxy last year - melted my mind.

I saw them in 2002 at the Arts Centre in Colchester. I was 17 and hadn't passed my test so my Uncle's mate took me and a friend, it was an insane gig. Do Make Say Think supported and they were superb too, and Godspeed only came on at 10 and then played for 3hours, completely trashing the curfew! There were loads of people tripping out and going crazy. Saw them twice at the ATP they curated last year, it was fantastic but didn't quite have the magic - I'm sure they were just as good, but to me it lost some of the special-ness of that old gig. Also, I'm not such a post-rock nut as I was before, although still love Mogwai. That ATP opened me up to a lot of ambient stuff actually, like Tim Hecker, Emeralds etc.

Saw Godspeed You! Black Emperor in Brixton back in the day - good show, full sound, light and movie-fest. Think it was some sort of protest against capitalism. Tickets were somewhat expensive though.....

Shuffled iPod - it chucked these out.

Ash - World Domination
Levellers - Another man's cause
Elastica - Stutter
Ben Folds - In between days
The Gutter Twins - Circle the fringes
Lostprophets - And she told me to leave
Rosa Mota - Stripped and bleeding
The Doughboys - Fall
Radiohead - Creep
Our Lady Peace - Stealing babies

10 Blues tracks(in no particular order)

Muddy Waters:Louisiana Blues
Wolf:Killing Floor
Son House:Death Letter
Robert Johnson:Come on in my Kitchen
Professor Longhair:Tipitina
Albert King:Born under a Bad Sign
Etta James:I'd rather go Blind
B.B.KING:Sweet Little Angel
