Team For Saturday

You shouldn't spend 150k on someone and then leave them on the bench, so I expect Revell to start alongside Barnard up front, Mulgrew in for Hamell, rest of the team as against Leeds.

As everyone else has said, it's the bench that will be interesting. I'll go for Collis, Hunt, Maher, Scannell, Macdonald.

How long before we get the "what are you doing Tilly, you have far too many players !!!" posts :D :D :D

Subs - Collis, Grant, Maher, Robson-Kanu, Revall

Wouldn't surprise me to see Moussa go out on loan as this seriously affects his position in the pecking order. It's going to be interesting to see who Tilly picks on Saturday, don't think he's ever had such a wide choice!

I would have thought that the team will basically be the same as started against Leeds, with Mulgrew in for Hammell, possibly Revell up front. It's the bench where there's going to be huge changes. I would expect Hunt and Collis to be there, probably Grant, don't really know about the other two - Maher and Kanu or Scannell?

I can only see it as a major vote of no confidence in Moussa. The only excuse for snubbing Moussa is lack of experience - and Grant has under 50 appearances to his name as well.

I'm not saying that I agree with it, but given his lack of starting or even coming on as a sub in any of our previous games, I wonder whether Maher's time is coming to an end

On Tuesday at the end of the game Tilly chose to bring on the Moose instead of Kev. In a game of that importance, protecting just a one-goal lead, I would have banked on him bringing in the experienced foot-on-the-ball midfielder. When Moussa came on instead, it pretty much spelt the end for Kev as far as I could see. Would love to know what is behind all that.

I think he just wanted younger legs, plus Moussa went right-side and if Maher had come on he'd have had to switch it around.

No place in the squad for Robson-Kanu or Grant. I don't really understand why we have signed them.

I think Tilly sees Black and Gower as injury prone and Robson-Kanu and Scannell can cover them. R-K also offers lightening pace (apparently) so has something that no one else has in the squad.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Maher head somewhere on loan. Not really sure why he's so out of favour but I too saw Moussa's introduction ahead of him on Tuesday telling. That, on top of the inevitable suspensions, means Grant is a ready made strong, tough-tackling replacement - which Moussa isn't.

Agreed

I heard that it is because he had a difference of opinion with Tilson about tactics.

How dare he!!

Just spoke to a Wycombe season ticket holder & he stated Grant was their best player when they had him on loan for a season. Started off a bit slow but confidence grew & yes he likes a strong tackle!

Should get a place on the bench at least.

the team will be the same as leeds apart from mulgrew in for hammell. why change the team after the way they played against leeds. the bench i dont have a clue who will be on it

Just because we paid a fee doesnt mean he should walk straight in either.

He has only just got here and had a few days training.

We just had a great result against Leeds and Tilly does like to leave a winning team as it is.

Whilst I could see Revell starting I think he will go with Macdonald and bring Revell on later. If that happens hope its with half an hour to go and not 10 minutes.

why change it from leeds? macdonald has played well and scored when fit and so I'm sure Revell won't mind being on the bench for the time being

I know what you're saying, but it was obvious that Charlie was lacking a bit of match-fitness, and I think Tilly likes to play 1 big guy, 1 little guy up front, so I just think that's the way he'll go.

So where does that leave Maher and Moussa?

To be honest, it's a message to Maher that he's no longer viewed as indispensible. As for Moussa, I would still say he is a fringe member who we should give games to where we can. Swansea away showed that he maybe isn't ready to be relied upon in big games yet.
