Pre-Match Thread Team and Scores for Friday Night

I take it you didn't watch the Man Utd game as Prior and Sodje played at centre back that night!

I'm not a fan of Barrett full stop, but Dervite coming in has only proved further just how all over the shop our centre back partnership is.

5 - 1 to the mighty blues.

Every season we win 1 game comprehensively, and is kinda written cause we will go and win 5/6 - 1 but results will go against us on saturday and we will stay 6 points off the playoffs. one of them results that just teases fans everywhere.
And we'll say next year - next year, but then dervite n that will go. Mildy, Macca, Grant will lose form and we'll be a mid table team again.

It's a bit of a blur to be honest! Sorry!
I agree that having a different centre back with Clarkey has worked wonders and we are better off like that though

Indeed. Although we could get by for a single game with the pairing, it's unfortunate that it's a game in which we'll be playing against one of the top scorers in the league - Joel Porter.

Franno at centre back would be my first choice to be honest.

Good point, had forgotten about him.

Mildenhall
Francis Dervite Clarke Barrett
Scannell Grant McCormack Moussa
Robinson Barnard

Subs: Joyce, Sankofa, Christophe, Betsy, Laurent

Score: Blues 4 - 0 Northampton
Robinson

Barrett

From the Evening Echo the squad for tonights game

Team for Friday will it look like this ??
Mildenhall
Sankofa, Francis, Clarke, Barrett
Scannell, Grant, Macca, Moussa,
Robinson, Laurent
Subs From Herd, Jeff, Joyce, Betsy, Barnard

Southend (from): Mildenhall, Francis, Sankofa, Clarke, Barrett, Scannell, McCormack, Grant, Moussa, Robinson, Laurent, Barnard, Betsy, Christophe, Herd, Joyce, Freedman and O’Keefe.

Let's hope Chris Phillips has got this wrong:

Osei Sankofa is favourite to replace him in defence and Clarke is certain the Shrimpers can maintain their late charge for the play-offs with another win.

3rd choice option as far as I'm concerned.

Mildenhall
Francis Dervite Clarke Barrett
Scannell Grant McCormack Moussa
Robinson Barnard

Subs: Joyce, Sankofa, Christophe, Betsy, Laurent

Score: Blues 4 - 0 Northampton
Robinson
Robinson
Barnard
Barrett

Cant see us beating Northampton 4 nil tonight but we could beat Hartlepool by that score!! ;)

Why so much negative scorelines. Francis will go to CB, Sankofa RB....no probs there.

Barney upfront with Robinson, midfield the same. We normally do well against a Hartlepool side who dont travel well.

Comfortable 2-0 win, Barney and Robinson to score.

7512 (75 away)

I hope not, if sankofa is at RB we will have no attacking threat down that side and besides why move francis when he played so well against Carlisle? According to the echo Sankofa is favourite to play CB which is probably the best move considering CB is his main position.

Well, actually despite peoples negatives towards Sankofa, we have won 9 games recently with him in that position. The problem has been the players in front. Tilson continued to play CM players out wide and although results suggested it worked, it was a bit like watching square pegs in round holes. As for the CB position Francis has had some of his best games this season in that position. I agree that on saturday he was really good. But we have been weak at the CB position this season, but not with him there. so for tonite then i would have francis centre back and sankofa rb.

2-0 to the mighty shrimpers,Theo(2) ATT;7'340 and then it's onwards for swiss and the chaps weekend away **** up at hudders next week.

my team would be...

Mildenhall
Sankofa Clarke Francis Barrett
Betsy Grant Macca Moussa
Barnard Robinson

subs: Joyce, Herd, Jeff, Scannell, Freedman

It will be a shame to lose Francis attacking potential to CB but I think that gives us our best possible defence.

score: 3-1
Robinson, Barnard, Betsy

UTB!

Didnt realise Lewis Guy was (gone back to donny now) at Hartlepool... always looked like a decent player when playing for Donny against us, shame we couldnt of picked him up
