In summary (you can tell I'm a teacher from that phrase alone!) during the first couple of years of teaching GTP produces people that have less behaviour management issues

There's a SCITT group in my area - through the BATIC cluster (Benfleet and Thundersley) if that's of any use?
We're Essex LEA not Southend.Presume that is part of Essex SCITT which is based in Harlow? Or perhaps Southend have their own.... It's SO confusing these days!

Made a few phone calls today, I have to go nightschool to do a GCSE in maths (my worst subject ever) I just hope that has been dumbed down since I failed it in 1986. Tried to find out how many cap points I can take from my nursing degree to a teaching degree but good old Angia University didn't get back to me.
Im thinking about going into teacher. I am aware that you need 2 degrees to get in so the 1st would be history and the second I presume would be the teacher training course. Does anybody know how much you get paid throughout the training?

There's three providers that I'm aware of; Essex, Southend and Colchester.
I did a PGCE at Anglia Ruskin uni in ICT at Secondary School level. You get £9000 bursary for a year which then gets paid monthly into your bank account. It helped me out a lot for travel, books etc
I wouldn't recommend using Anglia Ruskin to study at though :)
I think Thurrock do their own as well, as they are a unitary council. But I could be wrong.
That would make sense. Surprised Colchester have their own one...?
I THINK they fall into the Cambridge teacher training consortium, but not entirely sure.
