Taylor To Get The Sack...

Peter Taylor deserves every respect- he was a fantastic player for us. I remember the excitement that he generated when he came onto the field. Pace and skill in abundance. And I think Billy Paynter will come good for us if he is given the chance!

I remember his first game back as a Palace player in the 70's he was greeted with a chorus of Southend reject. Sorry Spud.

I hope he gets a good hand tonight, and Palace get a good beating.

True Kev. Very true.

But far better to focus on the positive things he has done for the club and he's well 'in credit' as far as I'm concerned.

I wont be booing him James. Like a few have said, he's a top bloke and my old man used to play football with him most weeks when i was a wee nipper and he'd always say hello and have a chat after the game ...

Despite the fact he nearly got us relegated from this division after Fry's departure he'll get a clap from me, Southend through and through.

If I remember correctly Spud also spent a lot of time coaching youngsters in the area (Rocheway?). Never heard a bad word from the man about us and understand that Hull acted properly with regard to the way that they signed Cort from us (PT was the manager at the time wasn't he).

I don't think we have enough heroes in our history to go booing one just because he manages our opponents (for the time being).

btw: I'd love to see Paynter come good too.

I agree Peter Taylor loves Southend United FC and the area... I know he had a bad time when he was our manager... I remember reading before he joined us from Enfield Town... they where top etc and massive rivals with Barnet FC, saying the only one Club he would love to manage was Southend United FC ... at the time made me smile :-) cos the blokes a respected man in the game

He has always said he would love to manage us one more time again to put the record straight......

hey lets not boo the Legend, but if we are winning with 30 seconds left we can sing

TAYLOR TAYLOR WHATS THE SCORE :-)

It always make me smile

I would be happy to see a BBC 1 teltext headline of "Palace Sack Taylor" on Weds morning ...... if that mean we win the game tonight!

I get my coat ......

I admire the sentiments and I like the guy, I'll certainly clap him tonight - but I hope he doesn't get the chance to return, don't get me wrong I thought he was unlucky last time he was in charge but anyone else now would be a big downgrade from Tilly.

Don't doubt that he was a great player for us and is Southend through and through, but he still is a lousy manager.

I'm not going to boo or applaud him, I'll save my energy for supporting the current players and management.

Based on what exactly. I don't think his record is that bad. Not the best manager ever but not the worst.

PS I saw him jogging up Benfleet Road this morning. He was puffing a bit. Getting old Peter.

PPS had Whelan not got injured I doubt if he's got sacked. That's his view on things and whilst Thompson did great having Whelan back was a massive boost.
