Weller has had the balls to turn down a multi-million pound reunion which to me speaks of integrity.... his Live Wood album where some old Jam songs are covered is truly magnificent.

3 decent Floyd albums..... one decent single.... hardly the mark of "musical genius"

Weller owns all the royalties to The Jam back catalogue so wouldn't need to reform for any other reason than for old times sake. Considering Foxton wished him a early grave just after they broke up and found out he wouldn't be getting a share of any future royalties then I would think it's more self preservation than integrity.

Floyd only had 3 good albums? That has to be one of the far reaching comments of utter bollocks I have ever heard. I thought better of you MK, I really did. Pink Floyd have been smashing record sales for 30+ years, have played on every great stage in the world and can still sell out a venue in seconds.

The Jam were hardly known outside of Britain. I was a fan no I am a fan but Pink Floyd were and are better in every department.

Touch of nerves there MK ???

Not at all!

My last plea for the best British band there has ever been, and ever likely to be on these shores..... The Jam.... 3 ordinary blokes....the finest, jaw dropping, bollock clenching, **** ripping songs that have ever been written. Songs that young surburban kids could relate to..... songs that made them want to pick up a guitar and form bands of their own.

From the fiery punk of In The City and News of The World through the mod revival of Going Underground, Eton Rifles and That's Entertainment to finish with the nerve tingling Beat Surrender as their swan song, calling it a day at the peak of their powers.

The Jam are as quintessentially English as roast beef and a cup of tea, and it is for these reasons why The Jam should win the first Shrimperzone Battle of The Bands!

Mk.....The Dark Side Of the Moon stayed in the Album charts for 4 years, yes 4 Years......And still sells far above any Jam Spam album ever did.

The Jam are quite simply better at writing a good pop song, and there's no shame in that.

Have you clicked on any of the Floyd links Paul?.This may awaken you to real class...:p

Good man Gary.. I knew you had class.

Well indeed.....only the holy grail is hidden better than my class :p

To enter these rounds at a late stage maybe a little poor on my voting, but I think we have come down to the quality battles.....just a shame "Mel" wasnt here to enjoy my voting.
