SZ Away Day 2008 / 2009

Bejeezus!

Last time i was in Dublin was a lovely April weekender...

...with 3inches of SNOW:stunned:

I think you lot should try Suffolk, the best of the English weather can be had there! Oh,and not too far from Stansted, Irish!

Have you ever actually been there...? Because I've lived there for 16 years and that's the first I've heard of it!! (The weather bit obviously, the bit about Stansted is a geographical fact)

Never seems to rain even in that bit between Norfolk and Suffolk.

I've taken the family away from April to October and had 9 different holidays this year and hardly had a spot of rain,ok the last one at the end of October pi$$ed down every night for a week and was freezing cold but that was the New Forest after all.

Seemed a mad place.
We went out one night when the snow became blizzard,on a dark Monday when nothing was going on,popped into a pub in Temple Bar and couldn't believe our eyes.

TWO live bands, one downstairs, one upstairs, the place was heaving, people dancing and singing on tables, the paddys were absolutely bonkers!
Fantastic night we had.

Did you ever visit Bungay??

Never heard of it.

We did visit the Prison (the old one) and got a bus back. That was when an old Irishman had downed too much blackstuff and began singing "Waltzing Matilda" and had everyone up dancing on the bus!
I wouldn't mind but it was only half-two in the afternoon for pete's sake!

Basically I've arranged a pre-season friendly between Southend United and Queensland Roar in July and a plane load of Shrimpers are flying over to crash at my place and re-create The Spread Eagle at the Bohemia Bar in Caxton Street, just stumbling distance from Suncorp Stadium.

Well, I can dream can't I?

Might like to change that bit, doesn't sound too promising! :'(
