Switzerland v England

Well done Welbeck and England, that was a pretty decent performance against tough and dangerous opposition. We had to work to get into the game but were good in the second half.

Welbeck through the middle worked well, Sterling was a little off but Rooney and Delph supported well. John Stones looks pretty composed, however I really worry for the future of Wilshere, another very poor day at the office for him.

Agreed Sterling was a little off But still had a big hand in both goals, extremely exciting player.

Also Delph played well and after a reckless start looked the part - hats off to YB for calling it.

Lovely little performance and clearly BarnaBlue's words are inspiring Danny Welbeck.

Nice few quid in the bank account too. 19/10, thank you very much.

Think mrsblue might just be absent from this side of the forum tonight...

Very, very confident and assured performance. The only negative for me was Stones, who was sucked in far too centrally too often, but that's something I'm more than willing to forgive a young player being played out of position. Welbeck, Sterling and Rooney were devastating on the counter and could've finished the game with three or four between them. Welbeck took his goals well. An all-round good performance and one that, courtesy of Platini's meddling, means we're all but guaranteed to qualify. Great stuff.

Stones is a quality player in the making, Rooney was poor and his lazy self, looked good going forward with pace in the team but they also missed a few good chances but will take that all day:smile:

I'm not taking any credit for that, that all goes to Woy. Well done Gaffer.

I pretty much base my entire betting strategy around Barna's predictions. Opposing his tips is like printing money.

NOt sure Stones is a right-back though.

#thepersonwhomwemustnotmakeanycommentagainstorwewillgetbannedgetsitwrongagain.

As luck would have it due to bad weather we lost ITV all night but im guessing that they played well, huzzhar.

Funny those that said we would get spanked and not play well have gone all quiet

Very young team, looked very ordinary first twenty minutes, then confidence grew to looking a decent unit.
Nail was hit on the head by the pundits, who quite rightly said RH has to look at teams like Villa, Stoke,Hull etc to get young English blood as many of the top four have few to pick from

Best move of the day was the Sprinkler soaking the Smug 4 on the side lines, quote of the day when 0.0 at HT Glenn Hoddle " I would rather be 1.0 up at this stage" nt **** Sherlock

Every time Hoddle said "counter acting" I was willing Lee Dixon to slap him and yell "it's counter-attacking you ****!"

They did well, thought they looked a better team when Lambert came on. He plays a lot better with the youngsters than Rooney does. Jones was a bit hot and cold, either excellent or at times poor.

Delph was outstanding I thought and such an upgrade on Gerrard, whose role in constantly giving the ball away now belongs to Jack Wilshere. Great result and performance.

Yeah I thought Lambert had an outstanding last 240 seconds.

Lambert is definitely a valid 4th striker at the moment.

The pass from Rooney to Sterling - just seen it again. Makes it look so simple but it wasn't (sterling messed up a similar pass to Rooney in the first half). The pass had everything - pace, weight, precision. Sterling didn't have to think, break stride or take a touch. That's what Rooney offers which no one else has in the team at the moment.

And yes. I know it was 'just a 5 yard pass' - but it was the most important pass of the night.
