Pre-Match Thread Swindon Town

Swindon....

Lets hope so.....

Is M'Voto fit yet? I know he played a reserve game recently.....

Midfield....fitness will be the key as if Grant, Laurent and Christophe out we have a problem.....Herd or Malone on the left is not a bad idea....

Assuming they are all injured, we must be left with something like -

Mildy

Francis
Baldwin
Barrett
Malone

Scannell
Moussa
O'Keefe
Walker

Paterson
Vernon

Subs
Joyce / Bentley
Sankofa ??
Freedman
Spencer
Herd
and 2 kids.....

On each of the last six occasions that Swindon have come to Roots Hall, we have scored two goals against them. What price we manage that again tomorrow? :stunned:

Swindon don't have a great record at the Hall though. They have managed only one victory in the League there in the last 47 years.

But of course it's the recent form that counts most. While we've managed only one win in our last six, they have been unbeaten in their last six in the league. We have had just two wins in our last ten, they have lost just once in their last eleven league games.

And of course Billy Paynter is the man to watch tomorrow. Now in his third season with Swindon, they have lost on only three occasions when he has scored. One of those times was at Roots Hall last season. He has scored in each of their last six matches and in eight of their last nine. :O

So, it's got to be 2-1 Southend, Spencer and Baldwin to score, Paynter the consolation... surely??

Arse. 3-2 to Swindon it is.

one of my favourite games at roots hall was probably 15-20 years ago

i think we were 2-0 down, not certain, but i remember us winning 3-2

think brett angell got a couple

taking my friend n her daughter 2 their first game 2moro n 4 the first time in ages i'd be happy with a point, hope vernon scores

<tried to input picture of vernon kay 4 comedy value, but wouldn't work>

probably due to copious amounts of alcohol consumption

UTB :support:

trying to keep a positive attitude but bit difficult with recent performances. today i just hope i see 100% commitment. thats all i ask for.

hopefully the new players will get a good start even if they are from the scum.

attendance would be 6k but because swindon are doing well it would about 7,200.

i want to see a bit of passion for everyone today. 3 points would be a great result but i am very reserved about expecting to much.

The negativity on here kind of reminds me of the Huddersfield game at the start of the season. Hopefully we can get a similar performance, but better result, this afternoon.

Wow, well I still quite don't know how, but we managed to keep all those runs going today.

So that's now seven matches in a row that we have scored 2 against Swindon at Roots Hall, they still have only one victory there in 47 years. We now have just one win from seven, they are unbeaten in seven. Paynter has now scored in seven consecutive league matches and in nine of their last ten.

OK, so I got the score wrong, but I didn't do too badly on the scorers...... :O
