Pre-Match Thread Swindon Town

SUFCStu

President
Hopefully we will revert back to 4-4-2 for this important game.

Going to go for a 0-0 draw though :tumbleweed:

0-0?! We can't concede nil!

We'll be lucky to get nil! :stunned:

Hope we go 4-4-1-1, with Freedman 'in the hole' - though I know many would like it buried - if Tilly is still reluctant to start Spencer until he gets his match fitness. I'd like Francis to play RB again so we can benefit from his crosses. Sankofa would need to mark Austin, which could be a tall order for any L1 defender currently. Grant (if fit) would need to help out from a deep midfield position. I hope Laurent is fit too - we shall have to just wait and see. Would be more than happy with a point the way things are currently ...

Even with a full strenth side this would be a hard game, with squad we have at the moment, can only see another defeat. 2 0 swindon

I'll go for ..........

Mildy

Francis
Sankofa (with his sick bag)
Barrett (with the red cross rather than captain's armband)
Malone (with an L on his back)

Grant (with a walking stick)
Moussa (with an L on his back)
JFC
Loanee (Laurent, if the referee will allow his bed to run up and down the wing)

Paterson (with an L on his back)
Loanee

bench: Joyce (in his dressing gown) Herd (with an L on his back) O'Keefe (with an L on his back) Freedman (with OAP on his back) Spencer (with an L on his back) and a very large pail

:D I can hear the original music from 'The Great Escape' coming over the sound system at the Hall ...

So, no Macca, Possibly no Grant, JFC, Laurent. Leaves us with Scannell, Moussa and O'Keefe as the only natural midfielders.

Swindon...........

It seems to be going from bad to worse with Macca suspended and the mounting injury list....

My formation would still be 4:4:2 just to give it a go against a side that must be so up for this game after recent results.

If we try the damage limitation route we will suffer and inturn the crowd will turn as they did against Wycombe. I had looked at this game as a likely draw but now I feel with the morale apparently at such a low ebb we will do really well just to get the draw!

My team if the injury list is to be believed.....

Mildy

Francis
Barratt
M'voto (if fit and even if only just about fit he should play)
Malone

Scannell
Moussa
Walker
Herd

(this is assuming Christophe, Grant, Laurent are out injured)

Spencer
Paterson

Subs Dougie
Sankofa
and anyone else who brings their boots along and fancies a game!

We have got to give it a go......

With the injury doubts the line up will be interesting to say the least, but I really can't see anything other than defeat :(

Its scandelous that ron martin has allowed the squad to get to this. We cant have big name signings but atleast get some journeymen or youngsters in to help tilly out.

Can we not get it postponed due to a virus sweeping the camp, or is that wishful thinking?

Swindon are a good side.I saw them in the Cup away at Fulham at the begining of January. They're a passing side and play good football. They'll murder us. Their wingbacks are useful and Paynter's a cert to score.:'(

Swindon are probably strong all over the pitch. Good centre back partnership, two good attacking full backs, two good wingers, a strong centre mid with Douglas and Mcgovern and probably the in form strike partnership in Paynter and Austin. Difficult to see our defence containing them.
