Hopefully there will be tickets on the day.
It will be my first game of the season - so I don`t care who plays as long as we win,

Looking out of window rain still chucking it down. Anybody know situation on Swindons pitch, hate to have another Bradford scenario!!

Probably too early to say, according to BBc weather, there is rain expected on the day though from around 2am until kick off, so wouldnt surprise me if it was called off, if so, I hope they make the descion earlier than the Bradford game.

Talking of the Bradford match, for those that are not aware the re-scheduled match has been planned for Tuesday 16th February

We can't go 442 away from home guys - football has moved on - it isn't the 90s any more.

Bentley (although I'll drop him next home game)
O'Neill, Thompson, Prosser, White (assuming Coker isn't 100% - if he is, O'Neill is out)
Leonard, Deegan, Timlin (or Atkinson if not fit)
Hurst, Payne, Barnett

Perhaps PB could drop the news just before Bentley jogs out at Swindon:nope:

I don't know how most of the squad will feel about the addition of Tyrone, BUT, for me it is a BIG lift after the last two blank and blunt defeats. Tyrone MUST go straight into the starting 11 and lead the line.
I can see us lining up a 4 3 1/1/1 or 4 3 2 1.

I would rest Dan, young Smith as GK

O'Neill (RB) Bolger & Thompson (CBs) and White (LB)

Macca, Lennie, Wozza

Hunt, Payne

Tyrone.

The last couple of games have shown that attack is the best defence and with this line up we ought to have goals in us.

I like the idea ............. but that looks like either a suicidal midfield or a game we will win 5-4! :stunned:

I spoke with a friend yesterday who is a Swindon fan. He says that they had 5 decent loanees who have all been recalled by their parent clubs

Bentley won't be rested/dropped due to the obvious signals it would send out to any club who would be interested in signing him. I don't think he would be too happy about it either being replaced by a young and mainly untested keeper, although I believe it would be the right decision.
Difficult one....

So players who haven't been getting a game because of loanee's will be out there trying to prove a point and prove they are good enough to replace them... Not always a positive... Look at how some of our players performer when given the oppertunity.

.........................bentley.....,......,,,,
(think it's suicide to throw ted in with a demoralised defence Infront of him)

White......Thompson............Bolger ............Coker
Im sure it won't be two right footed CB but that's what I'd like to see.

.................. Lenny............ Timlin............
still not sure on tims fitness so if not then deegan

Worrall..................Hunt................... McLaughlin

..…………........,.....Barnett............,,,.

Be perfectly happy to see this team. Think there is a lot of quality in there.

Swindon will be struggling to field eleven players following the departures of Adam El-Abd, Wes Thomas and Louis Thompson, Henrik Ojamaa and Ben Gladwin. This could work out a good or a bad thing for us; young squad players could step up to the plate or be blown away by us - and if Tyrone plays I think he might have a field day. Let's hope so. I'll be there. I enjoy visiting Swindon's ground, it has a big stadium feel and there's always the Magic Roundabout to marvel at......

This but Hunt up top with Payne behind. Haven't a clue what Payne has done to be dropped whenever we looked likely to create anything in the past 2 games it's come through him. Barnett can wait

Brown promised hard work this week for the players after the consecutive home defeats, so sends them out against a kids team and watches them get 8.
He said only Thompson deserved his place, suggesting changes, but this is Brown so Barnett in for Pigott and probably on the bench, and no changes.
So, Barrett in need of a rest has to keep going on wet or heavy pitches, Coker has to play on through injury despite needing to recover. Midfield that lacks invention without Timlin stay as they are, highly predictable and stale.
Freshen it up Brown, we are 7th just, but need to push on, not settle for mid table mediocrity and defensive set up.
Going to Swindon and hoping for a fresh looking set up but not holding my breath.:winking:

Although i agree with you regarding Payne, i really want to see Barnett up top, he is a big physical presence, something we havnt got. Payne is the complete opposite. Payne for me is still a little lightweight and drifts in and out of games too much. Lenny and Timlin are our best combination in the CM position and with Macca and either Hurst or Wozza out wide it offers us more going forward. Hunt playing just behind Barnett will provide the creativity and also he has a good physical presence.
