Merlin is where I normally go pre match as recommended. Tap and barrel is the pub recommended by scott.

The Irish pub up the road is best the green tap I think its called we ALWAYS get a warm reception in there

But we used to drink in town on many a visit to Swindon and never ever had an issues not even when we stayed over

Hi again all, The Bulldog is now closed!!!!.. the local council have bought it back and are going to level it as part of a regeneration scheme!!! The Tap and Barrel is a good pub...and because there is no hostility between our two clubs you probably won't have any issues...I only recommended the Merlin because it has become a favourite with away fans because the police keep things spot on....they have been getting some great reviews on how the have been really friendly and helpful with away fans (If only all police forces had this mentality)!!! also if you are coming via train there are two pubs facing you as you leave the station on the opposite side of the road....they are not bad but personally I would go to the Tap and Barrel if you don't fancy the Merlin!!!.. If you are happy to mingle with Town Supporters and you intend going into the town centre I suggest the Sir Daniel....Nice big pub on two floors...and usually a great atmosphere....HOWEVER like most places some of our fans are known for having one too many and can get leary because in the town centre it is not so easy for the police to be on top of everything...this is usually the case if the away fans are 'mob handed'!!!.... Whatever you all choose have a good trip and enjoy the game!!!....2-1 to Swindon!!! (I hope)!!!! hope this helps and take care.
