Swearing: is it f*****g ok or not?

Im not bothered about swearing at football, there is a family section for the kids.. at the new ground behind the goal will be TBV and the rest of the lively ones.. If you dont fancy swearing dont sit there.. Evening games will always be lot more frisky on the language front than Saturday 3 pm'ers..

I'm not sure about this. I learned to swear properly at Roots Hall having had a basic education in the school playground. I understood then as I do now that there are times and places where swearing is unacceptable and I've never considered a football ground to be one of them.

As far as tonight's match is concerned I don't expect to get excited enough to need to shout profanities out loud.

In any case I'm not sure any amount of "being asked to tone things down" will have any affect on me in a "real" match. In fact with some people I know all that that will result in is a row.

It is more adult not to swear etc.......

When young DtS was about eight years old, and me as a single Dad had big concerns over swearing at Football, he turned to me and said:

"Dad, I have heard these words before, on TV at school and now at football. once you've heard them you can't unhear them, but I know that I must not repeat these words elsewhere so what are you worrying about?"

Wise words from a young person but true.

Mind you he swears like bu**ery now, but he's nearly 29 so I can't say much about it
