Supportive messages for the players *LEAVE YOUR MSG NOW*

Message: I have been to every home game this season and whilst we have been beaten a few times we have rarely been outclassed and that is why us being in this situation is so frustrating! We have the talent in this team to win every game remaining. Mildenhall is my player of the season and it should inspire confidence throughout the team to have a player of his calibre between the sticks. In front of him we have captain fantastic, Mr Southend himself Adam Barrett and now Baldwin is here we have a solid pairing at the back and the continuity we missed earlier in the season. Our fullbacks give us so much going forward with Franno's ability to whip a ball in and Johnny Herds threatening long throws. In the midfield we need to see Macca's fighting spirit pushing the team forward and Grant has shown his class time and time again this season! On the left Moussa was on fire before his suspension, more of the same! Laurent was skinning fullbacks for fun at the begining of the season and a return to that kind of form would strike fear into the hearts of our opponents. Two guys with a thing to prove up top in Vernon and Patterson. Vernon can show that prat Boothroyd that he can do a job at this level and Patterson can show us why he was so well thought of at Soton, we've seen glimpses, the talent is there!
Others who may be involved:
Sankofa: Already starting to prove his doubters wrong, keep up the good work Osei!
Christophe: Show us the quality that made you a premiership player! Its there somewhere!
O'keefe and Crawford: This is your chance, your big break, grab it with both hands if it the opportunity presents itself!

Come on blues we are too good to be in league 2! the great escape starts tonight!

Message: Firstly, thank you for everything you have done this season. As I fan, I appreciate the hard work you've put in especially given the very difficult circumstances on and off the pitch. Whatever happens, make us proud for these last few games. Show us fight, play in such a way that whatever happens on the final day of the season, we can all hold our heads up high and sing "Southend till I die".

When you look around at your teammates you have to BELIEVE. You have to believe that TOGETHER you are STRONG enough to overcome any challenge that is put in front of you. You have the capabilities to finish the season on a high by overcoming that word Relegation. It is just a word. Don't fear Relegation and what it entails, use it as a POSITIVE, a positive then can help you to realise when you look each other in the eye that you all have one aim together. One that is ACHIEVABLE. I speak on behalf of the fans that we are behind you every step of the way and we will follow you through thick and thin. We are in this together and when you walk off that pitch after 90 minutes you have to make sure you do so with absolutely no regrets and no question marks hanging over your heads. You don't get a second chance at one opportunity and this is your opportunity to prove to yourselves, your teammates, management and fans what this club means to you. You have the chance to give your all for the club. Wherever this journey takes us, we go together, it is not for the faint hearted. Every step of the way we believe we deserve to be in this division and we will strive to give all we have and play our hearts out for the club. Fans or players we represent Southend United and we should be proud of that. Good luck with the challenge ahead, remember, BELIEVE You are not a group of individuals you are a TEAM. COME ON YOU BLUES!

Just the thought got a 'result' from me :D

Message:
Seriously. Attack from the first whistle. Don't give them a second to settle in to their game, Play to the abilities we all know your capable of and don't for one second believe that second best is anything other than unacceptable. You hold the fate of Southend United at your feet. Don't let yourselves and us the supporters down.

No good beating about the bush, we are where we deserve to be and the only people who can change that are the players.
Forget what has gone before - it's now irelevent. Just treat the next five games as a mini season. 11 points or more and you will all be heros - fancy it boys??

On the way to the Stamford Bridge for the cup game against Chelsea last season, my hubby and I were chatting with one of the young players for a few minutes - he was having a bad morning, he didnt make it to the team bus and he lost his bag. Poor lad seemed terrified of Drogba and was really nervous. But, did that stop him or the team from going there and pulling off a replay? No - the professionalism kicked in and the whole squad gave them a run for their money and forced the replay against the odds.

Since then, its been a very difficult year and there doesnt seem to have been any luck flowing anywhere nearby this season. I'm sure each and every one of you has been personally affected and I am sure that this has been horrendously difficult. Having experienced similar problems at work; being short of bodies, people have left and havent been replaced, and not quite knowing if / when the next pay cheque will arrive, I know it isnt easy! Thing is, the season isnt over yet (much as I can imagine you all want it to be), and although relegation is looking increasingly possible, it isnt a definate and fate is still in your hands (for Mildy - feet for the rest of you!!)

What I am getting at is you need to believe. In your individual abilities, your training, your collective talent, and most of all you need to believe in yourselves and each other. Play every minute as though its your last, hold your heads up high and do the best you can. You have proved time and again you can do it - you can do it again!!

Rain or shine, win or lose - never lose hope, always believe, and always remember that there are several thousand of us who will be there with you and cheering you on. Good luck guys xx

Right you lot. I have arranged for a collection of supportive messages to be delivered to the players in time for the game tomorrow night.

This is now your chance to be Steve Tilson, in the motivational sense! Please leave a supportive message on this thread, or email me on Shrimpers_2000@yahoo.co.uk if you wish it to remain more private.

Messages need to be received by 9am tomorrow at the very latest. At which point they will be delivered to the players.

Off you go and keep it positive and passionate. Leave your firstname, age and location aswell please. Small things like that make it seem so much more personal.

So please leave your message in this format.

Please do not use it as an opportunity to slate a player. I have to copy and paste each message, so dont waste my time or yours as they will be deleted. Also please keep general chat to a minimum as I don't want to sift through 20 pages of bollox! Ta.

Let's see those Shakesperian/Dickensian calls to arms people. Maybe, just maybe it will make a massive difference to the lads confidence...

Smiffy, Excellent Idea!

I will get writing, and have a message ready by the end of the night!

Message: If you can get us out of this mess i guarantee an all expenses* paid holiday for the squad to Thorney Bay Caravan Park.

* all expenses doesnt include alcohol... sorry Macca

Message: For our remaining games, please please please just give it 110%. I don't, and I'm sure you don't want to see us either in the 4th tier of English Football next season, make Southend proud and make yourselves proud. Do it for yourself, do it for the manager, do it for the fans. Don't be afraid to shoot - you have to wear your heart on your sleeve for the full 90 minutes in the rest of our remaining games. Play to the maximum of your potential; we've seen you do it before and now is no different. Work those socks off and make us proud to be Southend United fans. Don't let yourselves down. Don't let us down. You have to do ALL you can.

Message: Come on Blues, we have proved that we can go head to head with two of the best teams in the world in recent years and we have come out with our heads held high.

The true challenge starts now and we know that we can do this aswell. It has not be easy this season but we have pulled through it, one last go and try and save our league 1 status. Plus do you really want to be playing Burton away on Tuesday night?

Express yourself
Create the space
You know you can win
Don't give up the chase

Beat the man
Take him on
You never give up
Its one on one

Express yourself
Its one on one
Express yourself
Its one on one
Express yourself
You can't be wrong
When smmethings good
Its never gone

Loves got the world in motion
And I know what we can do
Loves got the world in motion
And I can't believe its true

Now is the time
Let everyone see
You never give up
Thats how it should be
Don't get caught
Make your own play
Express yourself
Don't give it away

Express yourself
Its one on one
Express yourself
Its one on one
Express yourself
You can't be wrong
When somethings good
Its never wrong

Loves got the world in motion
And I know what we can do
Loves got the world in motion
And I can't believe its true

Loves got the world in motion
And I know what we can do
Loves got the world in motion
And I can't believe its true

You've got to hold and give
But do it at the right time
You can be slow or fast
But you must get to the line
They'll always hit you and hurt you
Defend and attack
Theres only one way to beat them
Get round the back
Catch me if you can
Cos' I'm the Southend man
And what you're looking at
Is the master plan
We ain't no hooligans
This ain't a football song
A Shrimper on my chest
I know we can't go wrong

We're playing for Southend
We're playing the song
We're singing for Southend
Arrivederci its one one one

We're playing for Southend
We're playing the song
We're singing for Southend
Arrivederci its one one one

We're playing for Southend
We're playing the song
We're singing for Southend
