If PB wants JJ O'Toole, then in PB we trust. Promoted teams always have "spikey" players in the squad. A good recent example is Luke Guttridge - forced his way into the team past Mark Bentley in pre-season and stayed there. We were promoted. Before him, Derek Payne and so on.

Maybe the midfield is lacking in that respect. Certainly not in skill and ability, but that doesn't always get you promoted.

As I asked CP, does that mean one will be coming back? I'd take either Egan or Sokolik as a pairing with Prosser.

I'd take either Egan or Sokolik as a pairing with another central defender - that might be Prosser or another signing. Let's see which player is best on merit.

Not that impressed with him when he played for us on loan from Spurs in 2002. Seem to remember he followed Steve Kelly, also on loan from Spurs, who was outstanding for Southend and went on to a play for Ireland, Fulham etc.

As I said on Twitter, always thought that Sokolik was the more likely of the two to sign. (If indeed he does!) That's the hidden price of failing to get promotion. If we were League One next saeson, I reckon we would have hung on to both of them.

Probably but our much loved cousins are still in Div 1 unfortunately. Not much incentive to drop a div apart from the sheep etc.
