SUFC Youth Teams - News, Match Reports

Huge story if true, all credit to the echo for getting this breaking news
I suspect you’re being sarcastic here but this is actually a big story. Having already lost Sandat we haven’t been able to offer a contract to our most promising remaining youngster. He’s having to register with another club to get minutes because of an almost year long embargo.

Fair play to the kid for waiting this long and not signing permanently elsewhere. I hope his loyalty is rewarded and he gets his contract here and gets to pull on the Southend shirt.

Is the Mikey Faulkner who joined the academy this summer as a second year scholar the same Mikey Faulkner who has been appearing, mainly as sub, for Tilly’s Heybridge this season and last?

If so, how does that work? Is he dual contract?

The youths currently 4-0 down to Dartford and it’s not even half time yet.

The damage done to our youth programme hasn’t received nearly enough attention.

Edit: now apparently 5 down and still not half-time.

An absolute travesty what has happened to our once great Academy. More Ron collateral.

I hope the new owners can restore it to its former glory, in time.
