SUFC: The Future SUFC up for sale

He said he will be selling for less that what has been invested, when pushed was revealed that figure is £25m over the time he's been there.

Are we to assume the figure is less than that. Or was he referring to the amount its cost to build the stadium?

If he commits to a sale he weakens his bargaining position. If he commits to a timescale he weakens his bargaining position.

If you’re not interested in selling and doing it for show you don’t mind weakening your bargaining position. That he’s refusing to weaken his bargaining position and say he’s definitely selling is a sign that he is actually looking to sell.

By leaving all options on the table it increases the chances of a deal being struck.

A Press Conference announcing your selling is definitely not the time to start talking about how your accounts are overdue. That’ll get done quietly in the background. There will probably be debt write-offs too.

the accounts - previous years and contemporary management accounts will have to be available to any incoming buyer doing their DD ...

costly but if you are buying/investing in a business a small price .. and you will need them anyway.

he must be serious to be putting the agency on the table ..

part if the discussion with the incoming owners must be about keeping SUFC at RH until FF is built ...

obviously incoming owners are going to be sensitive to the Shrimpers Trust .

I think its pretty decent of RM to admit defeat and do one ...

If he was that bothered about his bargaining position, surely there would have been no Press Conference and no announcement ?

The other flaw in your argument I feel is that you seem to accept that he has something to bargain with. I'm struggling to see what that is. I fully accept the argument that the club has a lot of potential. But unrealised potential doesn't count for much when compared with the real and immediate financial crisis the club faces, and its status as a fifth tier football club in a Division that is notoriously difficult to get out of in the right direction. They are the real - and all too obvious - factors that weaken his bargaining position.

Our owner bought a L1 club, plus (primitive) training ground and a hotel for a bit under £9m.

This is great news. I think we will only sell to the right people, unlike what has happened at Crawley.

We could have a new stadium, decent owners and the whole footballing department in a few years time.

Been in ruddy meetings all afternoon!!!

Was the size of the new ground mentioned, is he still planning on a 20k + capacity (approved) or are we going down the slimmed down capacity route ?

Some people really think he’s done this today because people are boycotting season tickets? Give your heads a wobble, christ.

He’s bad, but he’s not that bad, get a grip 😂
I've wobbled my head and still think it's spin to take the pressure off & get everyone back on side & yes that probably will include getting everyone buying season tickets.

After 25 years I am not going to make any excuses I don't believe a word that comes out of his mouth and like Fossets I will believe it when I see it (if I live that long) 🤦

UTB 💙

He may have many factors counting against him but that’s no reason to weaken his hand further.

This is as good an outcome as could realistically be expected. The club is up for sale as fans wanted.

His beloved DD on this occasion doesn’t actually mean just selling it to someone already in his phone book or someone ‘Arry Redknapp recommended but getting actual professionals in.

He’s said he’s not looking to recoup all his investment, which bodes well for pricing.

He’d ideally sell the new owners the ground as well but he’s flexible on that (so maybe an option to buy?).

This isn’t even the crappy bullet-pointed statement he usually issues and he even praised the staff.

This is what we wanted.
