SUFC exiles WembleyT-Shirt

What is the point in buying one now? Those words are so gay, have a word with yourself fella. Geeks and anoraks springs to mind.
Just been reading about Brighton's appearance(s) at Wembley in '83. It reminded me that Chris "bloody awful" Ramsey played for your lot.

So are you saying if someone bought one of those Red/Blue scarves they aren't proper fans?

I think it would be wrong to infer :winking: that from what I wrote.

What concerns me, is that none of the proceeds from the red/blue scarves, would have gone to SUFC.Official Wembley scarves were on sale for only a tenner.I've no idea how much the cowboy scarves cost, nor do I care, though I imagine they were cheaper.

(I did point this out to a punter in front of me at Wembley, who argued that he'd been told his red/blue scarf was an official one.Ridiculous.Whether he was a proper fan or not, I've no idea).

I bought an unofficial scarf, though not a red and blue one, because the club shop ran out of official scarves along with many other official items they didnt buy enough stock of.

Why did you cover the word fans in speech marks?

Personally,I'm not a scarf wearer. If you are, I'd imagine that you would own an older,non-Wembley scarf, which would have been perfectly suitable to wear on the day.

You seem to be on some sort of guilt trip for having bought an unofficial scarf.Frankly, that's your problem not mine,IMO.

In answer to your query.

Obviously to call into question whether said red/blue scarf people were genuine fans or not.

(I passed a shop on the London Road,Westcliff- the day before Wembley-selling quite a lot of unofficial merchandise.Frankly I was amazed).

I like to wear a scarf in winter to keep me warm and to show my colours. I couldn't give a flying **** if it's legitimate or not and would never feel guilty about wearing/buying anything not legitimate. My whole point was around whether you thought fans were real 'fans' because they had a non legitimate scarf on. That was your inference and there is no point denying it

Actually, my "whole point" was, as Kent Shrimper pointed out, that 100% of any profits from the exiles t-shirt goes towards SUFC players sponsorship.
I suspect that % of sales of unofficial club merchandise goes towards SUFC.

(P.S.My experience of "exiles" products is that they're of far higher quality than official club merchandise).

BTW,You imply I infer.

Btw,You imply,I infer.

(FWIW,in my experience, exiles products are of far higher quality than official club merchandise).

I was proud to wear it at Wembley.Looks much better than those red/blue scarves I saw some of our "fans" wearing.

For goodness sake, drop it! You're both as bad as each other and need your heads banging together!!! :thump:

I think it's a question that needs answering. There clearly was some inference there by making the word fans stand out. I am just interested in why. This is a forum where questions can be asked and answered, we people agree and disagree on things. No argument or vitriol here, just interested in the reasoning. If you don't like the thread, don't read it.

So why have you put the word fans in speech marks?

I've already answered that question (to my satisfaction at least),so won't be answering it again.

You seem to be more than a tad sensitive about this "issue" (perhaps for understandable reasons).

Don't worry I wouldn't dream of implying or even suggesting, "suggestively", that you're anything less than a "proper fan."

Chill bruv.
