Student tuition fees

I see the disgusting little oik who found it necessary to jump all over the Cenotaph has been identified as none other than son of Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour...

Decisions like...never to vote Lib-Dem ever again? :winking:

Overall I'd rather vote Lib-Dem than whatever version of Labour Moribund junior is leading. I loved his quote I'd join the students in the protest, but sadly I was doing something that afternoon.

Judging by some of the graffiti I've seen it's obvious that nobody is studying English Language.

Ironic that most of the student protesters aren't even going to be affected by the rise, as by the time it comes in, most of their education will be complete....

It's a strange idea called long term planning , most people prefer short sightedness as it fits in with their current plans.

>I voted Lib-Dem in 1997(the first time in my life I didn't vote Labour in a GE and the last time I was eligible to vote in the UK)as an anti-New labour protest vote-I actually feel dirty now in retrospect). >

Please read some of the comments here:-

I'd be willing to bet that some of the violent protesters don't intend to go to university anyway and were just looking for trouble, the ones studying English language probably have the sense to not get arrested and actually wanted a peaceful protest, where the students don't end up being portrayed as the villains of the story.

Maybe so, however they've lost the argument in the way the protests have been allowed to be hijacked. For the record Labour were also committed to raise tuition fees prior to the election. And it was Labour that failed to deliver a package of cuts prior to the election because they feared being wiped out. They looked after the party rather than the country.

The Lib-Dems are between a rock and a hard place, prior to the election they could promise the earth because they had no chance of forming a government. Now they are part of a coalition and they have to face real situations, and they have to face up to it.

Possibly, but they've ended up with a massive fail.
