I was really happy to see us play 442 last night and surprised PS went that way for most of the game.

So with a fully fit side;

Morris
Clohessey
Phillips
Mohsni
Barker
Hall
Grant
Kalala
JJ
Harris
Corr

SUBS: Prosser, Sawyer, Ndiaye, Dicko, Ferdinand

I have a sneaky feeling if Dicko can stay fit then he is going to be hard to dislodge. But great competition all the same.

If we can get another wideman in on loan, then I'd probably oust Sawyer from the bench. Harsh, but he has been a shadow of himself pre-season and I wonder if his head/heart is in it any more.

In a 433

Morris
Clohessey
Mohsni
Phillips
Barker
Grant
Kalala
Ndiaye
Corr
Harris
Hall

I'd put Harris in the middle as he would struggle out wide I feel. Not particularly tall or quick - so have him as the focus and Corr being a bit more mobile can fill that role and also balls played diagonally or crossed in towards his side, he can attack against a small fullback.

Gone with Ndiaye over Ferdi as I felt 3 more defensive midfielders would leave us really isolated at times (maybe ok away) and Ndiaye showed at Dartford that he likes to play further forward.

Ok so we may see a number leave, and there are injuries but just imagine for a minute that everyone is here to stay, everyone is fit. Name your strongest XI + subs.

It's not often we feel so good about our squad, let's revel in it.

I'll kick off with...

.................Morris
Clohessy Mohsni Barker Gilbert
.Johnson Ferdinand Grant Hall
..............Harris Corr

Subs:
Bentley, Phillips, Kalala, Sawyer, Dickinson

Bang on the button sir. I would go with exactly the same except I would probably prefer Hall on the right and JJ on the left.

I am amazed that so many people dont have Ferdinand in their strongest side, has everyone forgot the impact he made last year? The guy has everything and none of our other midfielders are fit to lace his boots and aren't as far as I am aware being chased by championship clubs. Therefore in my view its a case of who plays alongside Kane and at the moment I would just plump for Grant but if he doesn't put a shift in then I am sure Sawyer and Kalala would be more than able to step in.

The only possible problem could be that having 2 wingers leaves us a little exposed so in that case you could put Grant on the left of a midfield 4 in the old Tilson style and leave JJ out.

I also back Gilbert to come good, I thought he was fine in the 2nd half of last season and i felt we missed him when he got injured, wouldn't unecessarily want to disrupt the Mohnsi/Barker partnership at the back

4-4-2

Morris
Clohessy
Phillips
Mohsni
Barker

Johnson
Hall
Grant
Kalala

Harris
Corr

4-3-3

Morris

Clohessy
Mohsni
Phillips
Barker

Grant
Kalala
Ferdinand/Sawyer - still think if he's given the chance then he will have a good season

Hall
Johnson
Corr

2 full backs on the Bench? Not keen on that with only 5 subs.

I'd rather have just Prosser as he can cover a couple and then put Ndiaye on the bench as he is monster - be good away from home or if we are defending high balls late in the game he will be a good option to come on.

Harsh on JJ too, but its going to be like that (hopefully) this season with lots of competition!

If Prosser is ahead of Gilbert on your depth chart fair enough, but Barker covers centre-half so you need a left-back on the bench. Leonard's versatile and also plays right-mid. I think he is, or will become, a utility player so it's not just right-back he's covering but also midfield for when you need a more defensive option than Johnson, who gives you very little defensively.

Johnson hasn't done enough from what I've seen to earn a starting place. Also, if you play him and Hall you have no width off the bench.

But you'd a width where it actually matters .

I'd say the bench's width is just about right for its allocation of people
