Strikers who never scored a league goal

Not SUFC specific and sure there any others who have gone longer but I recall El Hadj Diouf went the whole 2003–04 season without scoring a league goal (26 games) for Liverpool. Bonne not too far from that! He also picked up 13 yellows and a red. At least GSM scores too!

Its 19 with Braintree

Officially our worst striker ever based on goals to appearances?
Ah but he's great at supporting 😬.

Shocking record really.

And as an aside

  1. Ernie Brown (1946-9) 0 goals in 17 apps (0%)
Ernie is totally a name that needs to come back into fashion 😄

There’s plenty of others you’d need to edit, that were midfielders not “strikers “ but some defenders, like Dyer : Fallon and Howlett (I think he may have been tried up front in one game) were centre-halves,McMahon a right-back.

Obviously confusing Kevin Fallon with his son Rory, who was indeed a striker.

I actually remember Peter Robinson, a big centre half. He replaced Gary Moore as a sub in one match, but that doesn't make him a striker. Those were the days of just one sub.

Rory Fallon? Did he ever join us? Tilly was mad on that guy

I'm sure some of our resident footballing hipsters will bring up some kind of obscure statistics which make Bonne look infinitely better than he is - a glorified Essex Olympian League defensive central midfielder.

I think the Who's Tommy put paid to that.

(I did actually have an Uncle Ernie.)
