Just what i was about to say!![b said:Quote[/b] (Beefy @ May 07 2004,18:16)]Got to go for Graeme Jones even ahead of him though....
I did... on page 2 of this thread.[b said:Quote[/b] (Benfleetshrimp @ May 07 2004,22:02)]How no one has mentioned Mario Walsh is totally beyond me.
fbm, think you've been unfair to one or two on your list.[b said:Quote[/b] (fbm @ May 08 2004,10:15)]I think in fairness we have to rule out loanees and players who only played a couple of times as it is not fair to judge. After all, if Corty had been a triallist at the beginning of this season in the friendlies against Ipswich and Gillingham we would have said he was the worst defender we had ever seen. But whilst we're mentioning them George Duck played in a Blues tour to the USSR in the early 70's and although I didn't see any games I don't think the reports were that good.
Incidentally, Collymores strike partner on his debut was Steve Brown and another debutant, Scott Ashenden, was out wide. Brown scored too IIRC.
Now, worst ever strikers to play on a fairly regular basis... lets work those memory banks a bit...
Not mentioned so far but possible contenders
John Gymer
Gary Moore
Stuart Brace
Eddie Baber
Jeroen Boere (I thought he was ok actually but am surprised no-one has mentioned him)
Leon Constantine
One for the underachievers list... anyone remember Phil Chisnall? We bought him in the 60's from either Liverpool or Man Utd... can't remember which... in pure effort terms he made Bramble look like Beckham
[b said:Quote[/b] (Fiftyone @ May 08 2004,18:46)]Phil Chisnall was a midfielder who we signed from Man Ure. He had more talent in his little toe than Bramble has in his whole body.

[b said:Quote[/b] ]Gary Moore was a honest and hard working player and laid on lots of goals for others, notably Billy Best, one of our greatest strikers.
Thanks for that info - the one I meant was Ashenden, so lightweight you could knock him over with a feather and absolutely no ability anyway.[b said:Quote[/b] (fbm @ May 08 2004,10:15)]Incidentally, Collymores strike partner on his debut was Steve Brown and another debutant, Scott Ashenden, was out wide. I'm pretty sure it was Liverpool - he won 2 championship medals under Bill Shankly.[b said:Quote[/b] (Fiftyone @ May 08 2004,18:46)]Phil Chisnall was a midfielder who we signed from Man Ure
Gary Bennet was in the same style as Tommy Mooney,he scored more goals and with more frequency when he left the hallowed hall.I'm not sure if it is just me but it seems that every player who ever pulled on the sacred shirt seems to start banging the goals in as soon as they leave AND IT USED DRIVE ME NUTS to hear their names read out on radio 5.[b said:Quote[/b] (Benfleetshrimp @ May 08 2004,22:15)]Anyone remember Gary Bennet from the late 80s.
IIRC he had a dodgy start but the began to knock in a fair few.
Liverpool and Man U.[b said:Quote[/b] (stid @ May 09 2004,01:08)]I'm pretty sure it was Liverpool - he won 2 championship medals under Bill Shankly.[b said:Quote[/b] (Fiftyone @ May 08 2004,18:46)]Phil Chisnall was a midfielder who we signed from Man Ure

Could have been the last player transferred between the two
