Life President⭐
Its bizzarr having been so high up in the league and looking at the auto spots for most of the season until our epic slump, i find myself not to dispondant. Even after the play off defeat when ordinarily i would be suicidal i found that im happy.
I have really enjoyed the football we have played this season and the efforts the boys have put in. I think gradually the fans have started to return and again next year with some exciting signings we will see bigger gates again. The togetherness of the fans and the noise against Burton was absolutely top class and still shows how much potential this club has.

I cant wait for next season and i feel sure that PB will bring in some real gems and just give us that extra bit of excitement. I never thought i would like the tango'd one , but i do and more to the point think he is doing a great job in playing the football we all craved and in raising the profile of the club both nationally and locally.

All we need now is for Ron martin to stick to his promises for once in his life and see some movement at fossetts this summer.

With tango at the helm and a new stadium this club could really start shifting foward at a rate of knots. Personally im just happy to have a football club thats well supported and finally appears to be moving away from financial insecurity.

Cant wait for pre-season and a pint over at wakerings cracking little club house.

Same...which is a credit to Phil Brown and all of his staff.

The effort of the players cannot be faulted week on week and I was actually proud after the play off defeat because I came away knowing that everyone connected with our club gave their all that day. That includes the players, staff and the wonderful fans.

Up the Blues and bring on next seasons promotion push

Key to next season IMO is not who we bring in but who we lose..

If we lose Bentley and Leonard, they are going to be incredibly hard to replace at this level with our wage budget...

However Freddy going leaves another 2500 pw wages (From the clubs side), plus the others must give us a few pound to spend, Phillips must of been on a fair wage and i assume smith will take a cut to be a number two if he does stay

Given that the scars of Burton are still fresh, I'm surprised to find that I feel vaguely the same, so this season must have been reasonably successful on the entertainment front. I will probably need to see what sort of shape we are in come August before I finally agree (or otherwise).

I feel the same and the reason for that is that we were not far short the end. One bad run during the season cost us. But whether we can keep the loanees and get in two pacey forwards, a left winger and keep Bentley and Leonard is key to progressing next season.

do you know this, or is it just a guess?

Not true. We had two bad runs.

The first early on when we took just 11 points from 11 games (3 wins, 6 defeats); a point a game is relegation.

Then the second when we took 8 points from that 12 match winless run; "relegation by March" form.

So that "one bad run" actually comprised exactly half the season.

The other half yielded an impressive 53 points which is clearly runaway champions' form.

Consistency needed.

Strong rumours from those who would know the truth.

He was supposedly on £2,500 from the club and another £2,500 from Gary Lockett per week (From back when GL was working for the club)

I admit I don't know, but I would suggest those figures are utter bollocks! Why would Gary Lockett pay him anything direct from his personal funds? I wish I could remember more but I am pretty certain that I have been told categorically that no player was on more than £1.5k - of our own I mean, don't know about loanees.

Back to the thread! :winking:
Well, NO I'm still rather cut up about it, especially as today would have been the day I arrived in England for the Final. As far as I am concerned we need to get Monday done with before I can start moving out of the gloom and look forward to the sun rising on a new season.

I'm just delighted to see superb support, great football, great atmosphere, top effort and commitment from the players, and Phil Brown is at the epicenter of this for me. Won me over completely, from 11th to 5th with big overturn of players from last season, proud of what we have achieved this season. Consistency and we will be champions next year, simple.

Yes I'm happy too. It means I can go to work Monday and earn a nice bit of extra cash than spend it looking across at banks of empty seats in a near flat attmosphere. The next time I go to wembley I hope to see a crowd to match ours and an attmosphere worthy of the stadium, Plymouth Portsmouth or Luton in the playoff final next season shhould do it. If its not one of those three then stright up please. Also looking forward to some fairly local trips away next season too. All in all I'm happy to stay where we are for the next season anyway.

I have been told he was paid a fair bit under 2K per week.

Another season of seeing Corr acting like a schoolkid and struggling with pace.
Another season in the 4th tier of football.
Another season visiting crappy grounds and crappy pitches.
Another season of crappy referees.
Another season at Roots Hall and not Fossetts Farm.
Another season of Barnard looking like an alien compared to his first spell.
New signings may help my mood:happy::happy::happy::happy:

Just watched the Deerby QPR final... what last minute drama.. 40,000 fans from each club, brilliant attmosphere better than the fa final with its measly 25,000 allocation to both. Over to you Button and Fleetfoot.

Isn't it Orient v Rotherham next tomorrow?

Orient talking about taking 22,000 to Wembley, apparently.

Looks like their going to be under 18000 for Burton vs Fleetwood as Burton only sold 7000 tickets as of yesterday can't find nothing on Fleetwood ticket sales wouldn't think it's much more than Burton tho
