The Watermill Wino
Coach Guru⭐🦐
Just heard it on BBC ESSEX that he and his second in command have left Bridge Road. Wonder where he's going? and is there anyone there we could do with?
I don't think so he has only scored two goals for them, mind you he hasn't been there long but he was only on the bench for the Trophy final.[b said:Quote[/b] (The Watermill Wino @ May 16 2006,14:29)]Looking around the Grays board looks like he's been tapped up as both Chairman woodward and Stimson parted on mutual terms. Rumours at present are Col EWe , Millwall and Peterborough.
Also is that Mark DeBolla worth looking at? they seem to think he's the new Freddy Eastwood.
Agree with that, as Peterborough also has a vacancy at the moment.[b said:Quote[/b] (glasgowsufc @ May 16 2006,14:33)]Peterborough's probably a fair shout actually.
You can see Fat Barry thinking he would be his kind of manager.
If his career progresses I can still see Stimmo being a possible to replace Tilly if the unthinkable happened.

Not too sure about Grays players, although John Martin has always looked class when I have seen him.
I doubt it, not based on the few occassions I've seen him this season.[b said:Quote[/b] (Matt the Shrimp @ May 16 2006,16:52)]I wonder if Stimmo thinks that Oli can do better than Southend, though...
Nah, don't think any one of their players is good enough for us now, although thanks to them for Freddy and Mitch![b said:Quote[/b] (The Watermill Wino @ May 16 2006,14:50)]Tillys new shopping list[b said:Quote[/b] (canveyshrimper @ May 16 2006,14:43)]Agree with that, as Peterborough also has a vacancy at the moment.[b said:Quote[/b] (glasgowsufc @ May 16 2006,14:33)]Peterborough's probably a fair shout actually.

Stuart I never saw enough of but didn't see anything exceptional from him the other day. Kightley played like he played in his better games for us and is probably good enough to be given a crack of the whip in League 2. Thurgood is much more composed than I ever remember himbeing for us and has developed the ability to control the tempo of a game. I expect he could repeat it at league level but I don't know how far.[b said:Quote[/b] (Upminster Blue @ May 16 2006,19:03)]As for other Grays players, Kightly, Thurgood and Jamie Stuart have been head and shoulders their best players from the games I've seen. Bearing in mind neither Thurgood nor Stuart cut it with us when we were struggling in League Two I can't see any of their team being up to Football League standard.
Couldn't begin to see that (the Stimson bit rather than the Plankinson bit). To get a job from non-league to League One is a bit of a steep 'promotion'. In effect, it is the equivalent of Martin Ling getting the Sheffield United job.[b said:Quote[/b] (Firestorm @ May 18 2006,14:24)]Todays Sun has Stimmo going to Col U wth Parky going to Derby or ipswich
Have to agree with you there - with season long loans being almost the norm nowadays, I'm sure that we could have kept him and loaned him out...[b said:Quote[/b] (Upminster Blue @ May 16 2006,19:03)]Having said that, Kightly looks as though he's come on in leaps and bounds in the last year and is certainly worth a punt for a League One or Two side. I thought Tilly was wrong to release him last year (he couldn't have been earning much) and recent evidence seems to confirm that. Perhaps we should have kept him and then sent him out on loan for a year to toughen him up.
