Still Wanna buy some shares ???

hmm...

60,000 got that pack, costing at the very least £2 to print, pack and send I'd have thought.

1,000 subscribe, so 59,000 get a reminder, costing say 50p.

Total cost £119,500.

Now, 1,000 have subscribed, most at minimum £120. do the maths!!!

We made 500 quid, so are in profit!

Did everyone get one though or was it just season ticket holders ?

There was one taker of £20,000 though so if costs were anything liky you say he/them alone paid 20% of it.

My old man got one, he hasn't been since southampton at home last season.

i got one, and im not a seaso.

I have to say, to those who suggest that £120 isnt a lot of money, it depends entirely on the boat you are in. If you are in a situation where you can afford to blow £120 on what is effectively a not very sound investment (yes, i know sentementality is important, blah blah blah, but you ask any independent financial investor what he thinks about football shares), then fair enough... but to a lot of everyday football fans, spending £120 on something you dont really get anything for in the short term is not justifyable, so i would consider that 1000 people taking up the share offer to be quite good.

I’m not a season ticket holder and I received it as I book online...

Its not loads of money to find £60 to pay up front and is only a Friday night down the Pub Cost that

This is the first time SUFC have done a offer like this for at least 30 years well Ive never heard of this before

It an opportunity I was not going to missed in my eyes and the share Certificate will be framed on the wall

I agree the many fans who buy S/Ts and spend loads in the club shop for their kids etc etc give our club enough money

My point about it not being a lot was that in comparison to what some people go and spend regularly on "entertainment", it isn't a lot. I'm not one I hasten to add but when you can easily go and spend £40 a ticket going to see a show up the West End, it's not huge. Obviously I appreciate that for some, it is quite a big lump sum.

The amount who have subscribed has surprised me tbh. I honestly thought it would be at least double the 1000 or so quoted. I know we've applied for three lots of minimum blocks in my family, so presumably that means we should definitely have our allocations. In this day and age £120 isn't exactly a huge sum of money is it? Not when you consider how much people spend down the pub over a weekend, going out for a good meal or going to see a film or show.

All about demographics really, 120 pounds isnt a great deal of money no, but whether people will invest it, in the club is another matter.
You have an average spend when you go to football anyway of Programmes / Food / beer / travel to match etc which on top of the ticket price whether season ticket holder or pay on the day all mounts up.
The issue also of when the share offer came out (beginning of the year) won't have helped either, as most people are recovering from the festive season and wont be financially in the mood for a share offer.

No in comparison to other things you spend it on its not a huge amount but I bet if you lost it behind the sofa you would have a go at getting it back :)

But value for money wise, a night at the theatre in london for 2 would probably cost getting on for that, but you ge a night out. What do you actually get for the shares? A nice feeling inside.

(Which actually was better than the bitter taste I had in my mouth after spending money going to see Chicago in the west end.).

Ha Ha - I can see it now...I didnt buy those tickets Darling, for Phantom of Opera, but here have some shares in Sufc.
With the wifes birthday coming up though Old Blue lady makes a valid point!

We may have 60000 on the database but correct me if i am wrong but wasnt it only Season Ticket Holders that were eligable to buy them ?? I understood that the club couldnt offer them publically as its a limited company and thus only Season Ticket holders, as 'members' qualified to buy them. So really that would be 1000 ouot of 5000 which is a 20% take up which isnt too bad.

I'm not a seso and never have been but it was quite clear in the letter that i could have gone and brought shares, so i think it was open to anyone who was on the database.

The pack was sent to everyone including a neighbour of mine who registered to buy a ticket for WBA game last year, as far as I can see the club opened it up to everyone not just seaso's.
